Expecting the other party members to pull their weight makes people elitists. Nice. And therein the problem resides. Its not anyone's place to criticize others in that way or kick them from groups. Its why "Low DPS" isnt on the valid list of reasons to kick someone with vote kick, and why you can report people for citing it as Abuse of Vote Kick.
Its the elitests attitude that they somehow "own" the game and have the authority to decides who plays and who doesnt based on numbers that is the problem and parsers are big enablers of this.
We already have parsers, a "set rotation", and kick people from groups for doing dramatically (not 50) lower DPS (though the problem of doing worse DPS is usually rooted in bad play and awareness anyways). The game is already quite homogenized in that raid DPS and beating enrages or DPS checks is 90% of fight design and I don't understand how you think parsers add to that assumed problem. The game already caters to a lazy 99% that doesn't care about challenging content or even succeeding at the easier content they have full access to, which parsers won't change either way. What about parsers removes a sense of "uniqueness"?
Whether or not they create an official parser or a plug-in for using one "officially", it doesn't change that these goalposts are there. Acting like it "hides" them is willful ignorance. Not everyone is a parse-riding idiot, and they are really a minority. It's a confirmation tool: one watches you play your job badly, calls you out on it, and can also back it up with parse results. Most people who parse aren't going to advertise it publicly. They will kick people regardless of the result.
Issue is that nobody can take a lick of criticism.![]()
You're a little late on this, parsers have been around since day 1 of FFXIV. DPS skills and rotations are getting to the point where they homogenized with set rotations.
Yoshi P and his dev team did a great job on FFXIV, I enjoy it, but don't be fooled that they didn't take a LOT of inspiration from WOW, it's pretty apparent already. Plus WoW doesn't cater to the 1% anymore, they stopped that at Wrath, WoW is pretty much the most casual MMO on the market in terms of content.
The only problem with parsers is how people use them. It's the same problem with gun control. Solve this. Run for president.
Let's be real here for a second.
This isn't about hardcore raid progression groups. Those people can use all the widgets and gizmos they want. That's a social inclusion thing based on a club you try to become a part of. If they want things of you, fine.
This is about PUGs in the Duty Finder. The vast majority of content is not such that parsers make any sense as anything more than a high score at the end of the instance- a sort of "Hey, I did better that round!" thing.
The way it is now, if you bully people out of DF groups using parsers, you will get your ban and deserve it. If it's something at the end, they can still enforce this. But if it's a constant meter running during the instance, they have much shakier grounds to stop people from doing exactly that.
So yeah, if they implement it, they have to be careful.
Then all that wonder and mystery of the lore is broken when a group realizes they can't clear BisEX because of a DPS check and frustration sets in. Personal parsers would be fine, may spur some to actually learn their class.I am writing this as a plea to SE, and the community.
Do not add parsers of any nature, do not homogenize the game more then it already is. I, like the majority of FF fans play it for the uniqueness of it, the mystery and wonder and of course the lore.
If you add parsers to the game(Or continue to allow things like ACT to function) then you will create a WoW clone which caters to the 1% and leaves the 99% struggling to enjoy the game or see/experience content.
You may increase subs, but you will destroy the community. I don't want to play a "set rotation" or be kicked from groups because my DPS was 50 below the other DPS. I played WoW for 8 years, and ultimatley it was the condescending attitude of people running DPS meters/healing meters that ruined it. It's just not fun.
The game works fine as it is. Please PLEASE keep it this way.
Funny because im pretty sure the majority would vote for parser.
`If i queu for a lvl 60 dungeon and someone with similar gear is pulling 500dps while i pull 1.4k, ill kick them. i'm here for my eso or drop, not to carry their lazy assLet's be real here for a second.

You need a parser to see someone's failing that hard in a four-man?
Then go make a preformed group and run it with that group. The DF is not your personal crucible.i'm here for my eso or drop, not to carry their lazy ass
No but the same could be said with your argument. Why are you against parsing when you can already tell when someone is terrible?
Nether is your. I shouldn't have to make a premade to expect people to know basic informations about their jobs. If you want a jolly cooperation slow run with no pressure, you make a premade
