Can we get a Chocobo Stables NPC who will let me shack up my chocobo in his stable for a nominal fee; and then I can feed my bird bro some paint berries?

I don't really care about having a house, but I want to force feed some color into my chocobo. I don't see why that should cost millions of gil.

If you aren't in an FC, I can invite you to mine so you can do that. Then you can leave if you like, or stick around. Free, of course. You would have to provide your own fruit though.

Decent work around; and plenty are willing to do this, but it speaks to the larger issue of a hulking gil gate in front of coloring up your chocobo. I'd rather see something more sensible than FC hopping every time I want to change my chocobo's color scheme.

I agree. It's ridiculous that something like coloring one's chocobo is locked behind the absurd nightmare that is this game's housing. That's not even an FC-related activity; it's entirely personal.

Really not happy that I'm gonna be stuck with plain ol' yellow for the foreseeable future. :/

This isn't a real fix for the inflated price of housing(and I have a house and fc house, so I'm sure my words don't help much), hopefully the new roommate system combined with the decay timer and the transfer system will help more people have access to these features. None of those are real fixes to the problems with housing(and housing features), but hopefully it does ease the burden on players. If not, I think we should probably urge everyone who is unhappy with the system into making a forum post and add their opinions into it; I know most of my friends in game avoid the OF like the plague, and most of the player population does too, so their opinions don't get heard.

Its one of the few things I still don't get either
To color it you need access to the stables (either by FC or own house)
To get the berries you either buy them of the AH or grow them yourself but you need access to a gardening plot therefor access to an FC or own house

Why couldn't they add 2-3 flower pots to your inn room? or your personal FC room at least so you can do some gardening your self.

Or there's that chocobo stable on the north side of Gridania, that's only used for a couple of low-level sidequests at the moment.

Honestly you have to work for what you want- that's how MMORPGs work. If you don't want to work to buy your own house or find an FC you want to join, you really are playing the wrong type of game.
