You'll notice that "someone being a jerk" and the point of the practice (what the OP asked about) are entirely different things. Please actually address the thing I'm talking about if you're going to try to refute something I said.Not sure what you think "common sense" is but this is certainly a little off. I can't tell you how many times i'v seen "i was here 1st, so i get 1st loot" then all of a sudden when they get theirs "oh, sorry bros i gotta start dinner/s go outside/something all of a sudden came up, gotta go! who wants lead?" yea, Fool is the word you are looking for. and this happens far more often then not to where i just started avoiding these parties.
Good luck being the last person in line, you pretty much won't ever see it, unless you luck out and get that extreamly rare group that is actually considerate to stay till all gets. and usually with the types of parties you mentioned, they never get full anyway, unless people joining aren't after the pony, but a weapon from the ex fight.
Loot master is all fine and dandy as long as people call out items in gear farming parties.
