    New Weapon Quest

My quest to get a new rank 20 weapon for my lancer started off with me checking the wards and finding that there wasn't one up for sale. So I begin my quest by looking up what I will need to create it. Carpenter, Leatherworker, and Blacksmith.

So I head out of town with my level 1 botanist and start killing a couple hundred trees. Well I found out that the elm I was getting in thal wasn't great for early levels, so I went and farmed up a bunch of ash as well, and then just to even it out and because i need it for the lance I pick up some maple as well. Then I look at the time and all of a sudden 4 hours are gone lol.

Check the wards again, still no lance up. I then switch to carpenter and start turning ash into lumber, and get to about level 8 before I notice that maple was a lower level synth. Oh well too late now. End up turning a +3 maple log into a +1 lumber. Alright I think, already halfway to that new spear and I got a nice HQ item to try and make a HQ spear (if that's possible?).

Go out and kill a ton of sheep in front of limsa, and then head back to ul'dah to farm up a bunch of alumen. After getting about 30 of each I head back to town, check the wards again, still nothing. So I go about changing all of those down into warm sheep leather pillows, and get up to about rank 10. Then decided to check the wards again before attempting to make the aldgoat leather and there's a spear up for a measly 10k lol.

So 12 hours and about 40 craft/gather levels later I get my spear for dirt cheap. But it's nice to have those crafts up higher, and I'm probably going to try and make myself a HQ spear in the next day or two.

Yeah lol, I was actually surprised by how fun it was to run around for hours cutting down trees, noticing little things like where the perfect cuts tended to be for each area/type of tree. Plus it's just really cool to be doing all that work to improve your character
