Paranoid FC - For People With Social Anxiety

Originally founded on WoW's Emerald Dream-EU server in June 2011, Paranoid has expanded into Eorzea! \o/

The community we've built has brought us fun, friendship and above all, a sense of achievement about something almost every single one of us has struggled with, because Paranoid is for the socially awkward, the shy, the people who’d like to raid, but get a headache just thinking about all the things they could screw up. The people who type a message to someone who’s LFM in trade, then backspace, then type, backspace, type, stare at what they’ve written, backspace again and go quest on their own. And if they do press enter, they’re relieved if they get the reply: “Sorry, full.”

The people who freak out at the thought of grouping with strangers (or even guildies). The people who don’t like talking in Company chat. The people who are actually quite lively in Company chat, but refuse to speak in voice chat. The people who’d like to see all the game content, not just the stuff you can solo. But if you want to solo, you just do it, without others trying to pressure you into grouping/talking/whatever.

Paranoid is a no-pressure FC. We don’t care if you make a mistake that wipes the raid (seriously, we’re too busy worrying about our own mistakes) and we won’t think badly of you if you suddenly need a break if you can’t take it anymore.

We brought a bunch of people together who get this. Really get it. We know exactly what you mean when you say: “I’m out of social energy. I have to go” or “I need to turn off Company chat for a while.”

We're a small, friendly Company with a medium house in the Lavender Beds.
Most of us are fairly new to FFXIV, but we're looking forward to trying out raiding in Eorzea.

When I saw the title, I thought exactly of that guild thread I once saw on the WoW forums, it really stuck into my mind. I've never met anyone of you (my WoW career has passed almost exclusively on Argent Dawn) but I like your concept, you sound like a nice bunch! As someone of the "people who are actually quite lively in Company chat, but refuse to speak in voice chat" your FC really appeals to me. I am seriously contemplating to submit my application but before that I will have to think of some way to reimburse the FC I got bribed to join. Not that anyone would truly notice my absence but I feel I have to give something back for the items a really zealous recruiter made for me.

I love the idea behind your guild. Social Anxiety has always either kept me out of dungeons and raids or at the very least kept me from really enjoying them. So the idea of a guild that is focused on people with those issues sounds great. So much so that i am planning to change servers so i can join. (I am more active during the EU peak hours anyway.) When possible i generally play on EU servers anyway.

Wont be able to move servers until way later tonight but once i do i will post an application.

As a side note i also really like the idea of being apart of a smaller guild rather then a huge one. Few things are more annoying to me then logging in and saying hello only to have all the people online ignore that you said anything.

This sounds amazing and just the kind of place Im looking for to settle down in! Im a budding white mage at lv30 after about a week of fooling around in the game and I'm really missing the social aspect even though I often dread it just as much. I have been playing MMO's since 1998 but it's rare for me to find a group that attracts me quite as much as this does just after a forum post and a quick peek at your website. You can expect an application from me in the near future and I hope you accept me!
