Grand company leves and guild marks suggestions

Regarding Grand Company leves and the seals you earn in the grand company.

I feel the GC leves while very nice and fun for exp, is very low reward wise, 40 seals (80 now durign the festivites) I feel is way to low, and I suggest boosting this up to at least 100-150.

    Why?

New players, who joins a company as soon as they can will first want to save up 3k seals to spend on a chocobo license (and at this point they wont be able to do the r45 dungeon quest for a big chunk of seals).

Then they need 1-2k seals for any company items they might want to use while leveling, plus the DoH and Dol manuals which are 200 seals each for a one time use.

Even for old players the seals earned is very low as very few would be willing to spend most of their leve allowance just to grind seals trough gc leves just to be able to get the level 30 gc items or manuals.

How does this connect to guild marks then?

Add DoH and DoL manuals to the list of items(traits NPC) you can spend guild marks on, since every leve theese days floods us with guild marks and there isnt much to spend it on thats of real use.
This would also make sense to have it go hand in hand with the classes that they are meant to be used on, since players who mainly level DoH or DoL classes are pretty much locked out of GC rewards.
This also takes away some toll of grinding GC seals and lets people more freely choose to spend seals on equipment items and also doing regional and local leves with their allowances.

Thank you for your time reading =)

As a lvl 25 you get:
    250 for Recruit Status
500 for non-fighting quests required before joining
    1,000 for Toto-Rak
300 for listening to Leader speech
300 for the quest before initiation
    1,000 because it's Foundation Day

That's more than 3,000 you need for Chocobo. I doubt people would really want to spend on GC equipments apart from look, their stats suck. I do agree though that the manual should be purchase-able through DoH/DoL Guild Marks.

Just a fyi as a player that has just come back to the game; Toto-Rak isn't accessible asap to players, like myself, without a linkshell or hours spent shouting for a group.

You need a party of two to enter Toto-Rak, if that's too hard for you, well...

I would like it if SE allowed us to use out crafting guildmarks to buy materials, now that the skills are all but useless we need something to spend them on.

Agree that adding the training manuals to the respective guildshop is a much better idea than to the company shop.

I feel the seals should be boosted slightly maybe 60 for the L30 and 100 for the L40 mainly because it takes one leve allowance (chocobo escort takes none) and it also takes the full 15 minutes to complete (compared to normal leves that you can blaze through in 5 mins).

Aside from that, the GC leves are an excellent source of solo XP which might be why the seal reward is so low.

One has to wonder if seal rewards are gonna be affected by your rank within your company. Would be a great incentive to do the GC content and rank up imho.

Toto-Rak doesn't count; that quest requires a group and this game has no group finder system that I'm aware of, which means we'd have to resort to shouting in area chat. That is unacceptable for two reasons - one, it's spam, and two, it doesn't guarantee you'll find anybody within a reasonable amount of time.

I wholeheartedly agree with the OP that company leves should reward more - in fact, I think the whole GC system needs an overhaul. My major complaint is the recruit system. You're told you're allowed to join the other two companies as a recruit, which is fine - as long as that's optional. It's not, though. You have to do each mission for each GC, and you can't even stack them all up in one town and knock them all down, you have to do one mission in Gridania, one in Ul'dah, one in Limsa Lominsa, then repeat. It's extremely tedious (not to mention costly considering none of these missions reward you in gil so you end up losing money for repeated travel costs - assuming you don't/can't teleport) and it doesn't make much sense.

If I already know I want to join the Twin Adders before I become a recruit, let me do only their quests and join them. I don't want to have to go over and do the Immortal Flames and Maelstrom quests too, particularly since the missions amongst all three are almost identical - the NPCs don't even acknowledge that you've met them before. On top of that, the seals I earn there become useless to me once I join one of the GCs, so aside from some exp, running quests for the other two GCs when you already know which one you want to join is a complete waste of time.

I also think that someone at the GC headquarters should be the one handing out company leves - mirror the adventurer's guild, in other words. That way, everybody already knows what to expect. With the system as is, they tell you that NPCs at various camps offer leves, but they don't tell you who at which ones. Nobody in their right mind is going to go running from camp to camp looking for leves - it's just more wasted time.
