I think that SE really needs to make this a separate feature from housing. Or at least put in an option for non home owners to use it somehow. There are just too many homes that I see where people don't have anything planted. They got their homes, but don't care for the gardening feature. This makes demand high for limited supply like Glazenuts, which can take a week + to get 1 seed for growing from a deluxe garden. It is really not fair to high population servers and I feel bad for them. They have more 'mouths to feed' then a low population server, yet have the same amount of homes to garden with available.

I don't know, maybe make gardening free to home owners, yet have a feature to pay a land tax to use a garden somewhere for people without houses. That is, if they still insist on keeping housing the way it has been.... which, if I had my way, it would be far more available to all the players.

This is coming... well... to be more precise the ability for personal home owners to share their plot with up to 5 other players; including permissions for gardening/furnishing/stables (hopefully). If players who aren't actively using their personal housing gardens start utilizing the share feature it should allow more players the ability to garden. Please look forward to it.

That is if the current owners will share their house, which isn't a guarantee. Plus, it still puts the higher population servers at more of a disadvantage, like your Gilgamesh, by keeping it housing exclusive only. It may work out better, fairness wise, if they increase the gardens allowed on small plots to 2-3 instead of just 1 and mediums to be 3 instead of 2 on the high population servers though.

I'm not sure if this is possible, or if anyone would even want this, but I thought it would be cute to have a gardening moogle in the inn rooms. When you click on it, it would create a cutscene for you to deal with your garden through your moogle. It could also be a "furnishing" to place in your house (like vendors) for players to place in their FC houses or rooms to use if they don't have access to the FC garden patch.

It's not the most ideal solution but it's a step in the right direction (I'd also love it if they let all the houses have the same amount of gardens). I'm hoping that players will take advantage of this feature to help others out. I'm personally planning to put up a little message on my placard that says I'll be willing to share gardening privileges for players that need it.

A long while back they had mentioned putting pot furnishings in free company rooms. That would solve the problem if they ever got off their seats and did it.
