as a DRK i have no idea how to lose aggro
in fact I died on one boss, got rezzed, then got aggro again 30 seconds later from the other tank without using provoke lol
however I don't think he had grit on

Well just burned half a mill but got myself a full set of i115 gear, hopefully that does the trick!! Thanks again for replying guys

Take advantage of the low queue-times of a tank and spam hard-modes for poetics. With the influx of newer players you're almost guaranteed a first-time bonus. The fights a relatively quick and you'll gear up on ironworks fast that way. You could probably get the full set in just a few hours.

and I was spamming overpower/flash regularly. I used provoke early on because it wasn't going on me, used a few overpowers and a flash, but as soon as I used my main combo it went to orange and I could not get it back again until provoke came back up.

Did you do that on single target ? Overpower/flash on single target is a bad idea. It's made for AoE only. For single target it's too weak (and costs too much TP). When single targetting you should focus on your combos. Alternate Eye combo and Butcher's Block combo is the best. You should be able to maintain hate with that, even when outgeared by the DPS. Don't hesitate to use Unchained and Berserk too. It gives you a really good threat buff. When picking up adds, try to have your 2nd or 3rd stage of your threat combo ready and smash the add's head with it.
