Hotbar L2+R2 question and hotbar sugesstion. (On PS4)

With the release of Heavensward, I have found myself gaining so many new abilities that I'm running out of room on my normal 2 set of hotbars. Basically, before Heavensward, I only had to worry about tapping R1 to quickly switch between two sets. Now however, I'm not even lvl 56 and I'm running out of room and dreading going to set 3, since having more then 2 sets is harder for me to maneuver. I found out about the L2+R2 hotbar when leveling up my scholar/summoner. That is where I put all of my pet only actions such as summons, sustain, rouse, etc.

Now here is my question. Can I set up that L2+R2 hotbar to only appear for summoner/scholar and not appear(leaving a blank hotbar) when I am using my black mage? Yet also make it not appear when using R1 to switch between my other two hotbars? I mean hitting L2+R2 while I'm a blm and seeing pet actions that I can't even use for this job makes it feel like a waste. If there is a way, I just may be looking over it, and if anyone could help with showing me how, I would be very grateful!

Now for the suggestion, I know L1 is set to Auto-Run on the button config options. I checked, and I tried to change it to see what would happen, but I came up disappointed. Now, here is where the suggestion comes in. Is it possible to make the L1 button, a "Change Hotbar Set(Backwards)" and make the R1 button, a "Change Hotbar Set(Forwards)"? Reason being, I never use auto-run, will never use auto, and L1 is just a blank button for me. I would like to be able to use it along with R1 to switch between all my hotbars. Making this 3rd hotbar set a more easy transition for me. With this, I can be in set 2, hit L1 to go back to set 1; instead of having to hit R1 twice to skip of set 3 just to get back to set 1. I know its a long shot, what with the L2+R2 option, and the holding of R1 and picking which hotbar to choose, but it would make playing easier for some people like me.

Mk so i don't have much of an answer and your questions confused me a little bit buuuttt here I go.
"Can I set up that L2+R2 hotbar to only appear for summoner/scholar and not appear(leaving a blank hotbar) when I am using my black mage?" - If you have it so that the hot bar is not shared (an option in settings) it should already be blank or only have the skills for thm/blm you have put on it.
Is it possible to make the L1 button, a "Change Hotbar Set(Backwards)" and make the R1 button, a "Change Hotbar Set(Forwards)"? - Not to my knowledge, but you can make a macro that changes it to the desired hotbar. I wouldn't be the person to ask how to write it specifically though.

Oh! Okay I checked that button, and it is not shared. However after playing with the customization for when weapon is drawn, etc, I finally got it to work the way I wanted! So now the L2+R2 hotbar is different for each class. Thank you for the help!

L1 isn't a blank button, On your mob/aggro list if you have more than 1 enemy, hold L1 and use the up and down on the the d-pad to select targets from that list, its alot easier than using left and right or L1,R1.

It's used in a lot of combinations:

    L1 + up/down = target cycle through aggro list
    L1 + left/right = target cycle through alliance list
    L1 + square/triangle/circle/X = select targeting filter
    L1 + Touch Pad = turn HUD off/on
L1 + right analog stick = camera zoom
    L1 + R1 = draw/sheathe your weapon (or dismount if mounted)
    L1 + (L2 or R2) = target next enemy

Not having done any alliance-sized raids, I haven't used the alliance list part, and I prefer the left/right targeting over the (L2 or R2) + (L1 or R1) targeting, but all the rest of those are quite useful.

What I found easiest to do with a controller:

    - set my main actions on the Up Dpad hotbar.
    - secondary actions go on the Down Dpad hotbar
    - overflow/secondary stance goes on Triangle hotbar

That way if I only have one stance, I can cycle through the attack hotbars with Up and Down (as I have a page or two dedicated to emotes on square or circle).

And for classes with two stances (such as my Warrior with Defiance and Deliverance), I have a Deliverance hotbar set up on Triangle, and Defiance on Up Dpad. Easy switch between the three.

    Something to the effect of:

    /chotbar change [hotbar#]

Without the [ ] brackets, just the number

You can also set abilities on the hotbar with macros, I made a short thread about it here

Looks like you got the other stuff figured out so you may not need them.
