Which is something I'd love to see officially from SE... because we all know there's no way more Roes than Au Ra.

I doubt it's close to that. Most players probably don't even bother with the forums and would never know about an online survey done by a random person. Hell I frequent the forums and this is the first I've heard of anyone trying to make a survey.

Its nice but the results are still waaay too scewed by RMT and bots. I mean... as many as 15% have not even got the airship minion (havnt done MSQ to lv15) and 22% havnt subscribed for more than 30 days (cursor minion)

What this survey is telling me is that pretty much no one has "The Reaper" title on Lich, so I should switch to that.

Actually quite a good way to assess how many bots there might be.

Airship minions total: 728,189 [highest 93.7% on Phoenix (EU), lowest 77.7% on Belias (JP)] Quite interesting actually since, from hearsay, the RMT problem doesn't exist on JP servers...

active characters: 824,556

Leaves us with 96,367 - 11.68%.

My appologies then. I thought by survey it was a filled out survey. Usually how it works. This is more of an automated census. Not sure how it works though since it wouldn't tell us how many active accounts there are. Or when an account isn't paid, can you not search for the the player on lodestone? And what about alt characters? Are those equally obvious because I have 6 characters total, across three different servers. (2 regions even). Are each of those counted individually? If so then I am skewing the findings myself.

Tried the site for myself, doesn't seem to load any information. Everything remains blank even after selecting a world.

I'd guess a more accurate number would be 500,000-600,000 if you were to negate RMT and alt characters, although that would depend on when the last survey was taken. 2 months into HW it would probably shift towards the lower end there.

How does the site determine active population? Can or does it differentiate from bots or RMT?
