I don't understand some people in this game/rant...

So this will just be my rant thread so run if you don't want to hear my qq but there was a 60 Healer in my group in Cutter's Cry and I was on my lower level character, my bard.

Anyhow the tank is new and the healer is spamming medica. Then has the audacity to put in party chat to the tank who is obviously having threat issues that he needs to re-roll his class because he is bad. For he can't hold threat etc.

Normally I mind my own business but as a fellow healer I can't stay silent with these types of people. If it's obvious that they are the ones playing bad and for them to get on someone whose trying to do their job. Mind you between this the tank is APOLOGIZING because he doesn't understand that it's not their fault and whm is telling him to leave the instance.

So automatically in my eyes this white mage became are a class A Douche. Pardon my language if I offend anyone.

So I tell him maybe he shouldn't Medica so much as he should know and I bet darn sure he does, but just trying to be that guy. But let's say he doesn't and is innocent.

We get to the 2nd boss, and everyone is dying to dot. I ask whm if he can esuna. No response at all. After boss he says to me directly. I won't heal you. I laugh because he spams medica next trash pull. So much for that even though I don't have hate anyways - he does.

So we get to last boss. I tell tank to watch out for blue eyes. WHM scoffs. Tank dodges every single one, which tells me the tank is a good tank. WHM is obviously a douche. Again sorry for my language.

So around 10% the chimera casts violet eyes spams, and whm dies to the paralyze he couldn't esuna off himself. Also to the fact he can't dodge. Tank eventually dies as melee and I kite it like a boss, and win.

Wow I used a hi-potion - twice. But let me tell you, whm in party chat when I scrolled up after I left. (Was curious if they chatted while I kited and they did.) Was super negative and blammed tank for moving the boss when he dodged the blue eyes for his death! What!?

I was so happy when the tank replied, "It's not me, It's you. I'm sorry bae." HAHA.

Should have told the WHM to go back to WoW. Sounds like he needs a super simplistic MMO in his life and needs to stop making other MMO communities horrible.

Wow has nothing to do with the bad attitude of the whm, absolutely nothing!!! those from other ff games are just as terrible.

At any rate op I commend you for at least trying to point out that he was wrong. GOOD JOB

While WoW did have a notorious record for slamming on new players. I don't think this needs to be brought up as a debate on the matter. (As I played wow for 7 years - but I came out okay for the most part? I hope 0.o ;; ) To me if a person is going to be rude, it doesn't matter the game they are just going to be that way. It still doesn't mean I understand them any better though. lol

I think the comment was directly less at the toxicity of the WoW community, and more to the point that the game has become so one-dimensional and homogenized that now you can literally sit there and just press one button and successfully heal a dungeon while standing in anything and everything ignoring mechanics. Coming to this game from WoW without having played 1.0-2.3 or any other MMO, a player could easily think that all MMOs are built that way, which could also be why WoW is bleeding subs atm even after their xpac announcement

Yeah players like this really erk me. For one, this is a leveling dungeon, so not knowing your class to it's fullest is perfectly acceptable here.

two, at that level the healer should have been prepared for such things when doing a roulette (I can only assume) never mind the medica spam, but the sheer lack of understanding is what gets me. I mean, how do you get to level cap and STILL have no patience for this kind of thing?!

I understand it can be frustrating when you are stuck in a dungeon for a long time because some players "aren't getting it" but refusing to heal someone because they disagreed with you, isn't speeding up the process. I would much rather these kind of people simply leave the dungeon, because even with the penalty, things will go smoother in the long run for both parties in a lot of cases.

FATE grinding has created many mindless high lvl players who barely know anything and usually are carried by better player when tome farming. The whm mentioned reminds me of that kind of player.

Ya, I've had a few Medica2 Spammers in my life, which is annoying when Adds spawn far off from the battle, and it's not possible to wait at their spawn location, Leading to a few ticks of AoE regen building up massive threat, on top of their continued AoE spam.

And for some reason, EVERY SINGLE GOD D*MN TIME, they seem to always blame the tank. (Even if that tank never has any issues with the same content, but different healers.)

But usually its the DPS, so I almost welcome the healer being the prick for once.

Yeah, that was just a horrible situation to be in, OP. If anything, the main thing that irks me is a WHM spamming Medica throughout a dungeon constantly drawing aggro to themselves.

A) It makes the healer in danger of dying.
B) It makes it MUCH more difficult for the tank to draw Aggro(unless Provoke is up).
C) It isn't smooth.

Usually whenever I start, I check their levels. If they're synced(or have a 60 in another class and are unsynced) then I expect them to do good at their job unless they just don't have a great overall idea of it. Only then do I give advice.
