Community Request on Warrior DPS (Ps4)

I put PS4 in the title because...holy hell am I struggling right now optimizing this damn hotbar to fit in the Stance Dancing needed to utilize all of the Warrior skills when Stance Dancing.

It's gotten to the point where I might have to potentially throw away DPS in return for Fending gear because swapping between Hotbars is just...infuriating (no pun intended)

I've Macro'd everything to negate the need for Mercy Stroke, and have a Macro to utilize Raw Intuition + Awareness.

Long story short my fellow PS4 users. We need to find a way to stick everything we need to on 16 Hotbar slots. (We can subtract the stances, equilibrium, and a few other "dead weight" type of CD's that we can swap into)

So, anyone have any useful Macro's they can share if they are on PS4 to save some HB space? Let's brainstorm fella's, cause your homeboy over here is struggling lol

I use 2 hotbars I can hold R1 and click either triangle for main or O for secondary. Or I can just tap r1, but I don't do that often.

Then the cross hotbar is a beauty and necessary IMO now with Heavensward. It allows hotbar 8 for me to be l2 + r2 for a bunch of CDs. If you need even more space, r2 + l2 provides even more.

Macros will slow your gcd's by fractions of a second per action. It adds up over the course of a fight.

It might sound mean, but basically get good. Use a second hotbar or cross hotbars. Personally I use my cross hotbar for mechanics macros and marking, and just use two hotbars for my actions, with my stance actions on the second.

Mercy Stroke isn't really that useful. Its sole use is to possibly provide a stopgap if the healer doesn't asuna/leeches you when you're pacified. So...I wouldn't worry too much about it, if hotbar space is at a premium for you. In other words, get rid of the macros for this. Not worth it. Just use most of your abilities by themselves, unmacro'ed.
I also would say the same for Brutal Swing, since there's no need for single target stuns/interrupts inside the 3.0 dungeons/raids. Same use. Don't ever macro it to another ability. Not worth it either.

Really, combat macros should accomplish specific purposes BEYOND what the abilities themselves can.

and have a Macro to utilize Raw Intuition + Awareness.
    No problem with this.

Suggestion: If I were you, I would do the following:
    1. Set up all of your abilities for Defiance stance on 1 chotbar (recommend using chotbar 3), including your BB, SE, & SP combos and Fracture. I also would put Provoke, Tomahawk, & Berserk on there. Include whatever else you want in the remaining slots. Create a macro on this bar, specifically for switching from Defiance to Deliverance*.
    2. Set up a very similar chotbar for your Deliverance stance (recommend using chotbar 4). Again, put your BB, SE, & SP combos, Fracture, & Berserk here. (Maybe put Mercy Stroke and/or Brutal Swing on here, if you have room. I also would put Provoke on here just in case. I would NOT put tomahawk on this bar, because you should NOT need it on this bar.) Create a macro on this bar, specifically for switching from Deliverance to Defiance**.
    3. Set up a chotbar for your CDs (recommend using chotbar 2). It's fine to macro together abilities that compliment each other here, because our CDs tend to be oGCD. For instance, Raw Intuition + Awareness (both of these should then activate in order) or Equilibrium + Second Wind (note this type of macro would require 2 button presses).
    4. The macros for stance switching (see below) would copy from chotbar 3 or 4 ONTO chotbar 1. This way, you always have the abilities for that stance available, and you only have to switch to chotbar 2 for any CDs you need.

    *Defiance to Deliverance macro:
    Code:
    /micon Deliverance
    /ac Deliverance
    /copy WAR 4 WAR 1
This macro activates Deliverance & puts the "Deliverance abilities" on chotbar 1.

    **Deliverance to Defiance macro:
    Code:
    /micon Defiance
    /ac Defiance
    /copy WAR 3 WAR 1
This macro activates Defiance & puts the "Defiance abilities" on chotbar 1.

    Other suggestions:
Create a countdown macro for Berserk, so that healers can cleanse it. -- Basically: the ability, a chat line saying used it, and then a short countdown right before it ends. This is very helpful for healers.
Create a macro that uses Provoke AND lets others know that you used it -- Basically: the ability and a chat line saying used it. This lets healers know to heal you, in the case of a tank swap. It also is useful in dungeons in case someone is yelling about a loose mob. The second you hit provoke, they see it in chat & (should) know to let you establish solid aggro on it.

HERE is the complete list of macro commands for the game:

    I use 2.5 bars.

1st bar - My defiance set up with a macro'd deliverance that swaps my to Bar 3
3rd bar - My deliverance set up with a macro's defiance to that swaps my to Bar 1
2nd bar - My bar two has all of my buff actions on the right trigger and I've turned on the option to hold both triggers and pull up an action bar. I set it up so that both double trigger configurations go to Bar 2 right side effectively giving me 8 additional buttons which I share between my tank and dps bars.

    I hope that makes

I use 2.5 bars and the quick-key method to swap between all three. It's in my muscle memory now and my dps is above the actual dps quite frequently.

My friend, I come to you bearing good news. Have you heard of our savior, Extended Crosshotbar?

Enabling the Extended Crosshotbar enables you to access 16 MORE slots with R2 and L2 together.

You need to set this up in your menu under:
Character Configuration -> Hotbar Settings -> Cross -> Expanded Hold Controls

First you need to check "Enable expanded controls with simultaneous L2 and R2."

Next you need to decide what L2+R2 and R2+L2 will do.
What I do is set them to Cross Hotbar 2 Left and Right, respectively. I then set abilities to Hotbar 2 accordingly.

Do this and you now have 32 slots accessible easily without switching bars. That solves most of the problem.

I do feel bad that you have gone this far without something so essential, and it is unfortunate the game doesn't alert controller users to this functionality or have it set up properly by default.

In all honesty, I'ma just feed my ego considering I did a majority of this content with one Hotbar as both a Tank and a Healer (including as 2.1-6 HM, etc). This'll only make me stronger lmao. I honestly can't believe the Cross expand works smoothly like this. (This will also help me greatly in Pvp) and the fact that I've been oblivious to it for ... 13...months'ish?

    +1

As a NIN, I make use of the L2>R2 and R2>L2 thing. I have my Mudras and buffs there.

I know, right? I've been gaming since the SNES and this game has the capability to use a controller in ways I had never dreamed of.
