You don't get many tanks in duty finder because of this:

Expert roulette - "you are not pulling enough", "wear STR accessories"
Levelling roulette - "don't pull those enemies", "speed up", I want to kill them all", "I'll pull these enemies for you"
Main Scenario - "Don't you know the shortcuts?" "run past these mobs and click that button"

On top of this it is generally accepted that you automatically know every single piece of information about every pull, boss and dungeon even before you have even entered it.

For DPS you just turn up and follow the tank and nobody will say anything to you even if you suck. If the healer stands around and just tops off the tank's HP and does nothing else, it goes a little slower but nobody mentions anything. But as soon as the Tank has a bit extra HP doesn't stance dance or pull every mob in the dungeon even if its their first time they are instantly the worst players in the world. All for maybe 1-3 minutes off the total run time.

It frustrates me when I really want to continue playing DRK but just slowly slip towards going back to MNK because of all the additional frustration caused by the player base towards the role.

There IS a shortage of tanks willing to put up with PuGs in the DF though.

and this is why I only play my WAR when i'm in a really good mood and can put up with DF, otherwise i'm facerolling DPS with the rest of them.

Constant bashing is whats causing tanks to not queue up.

I think this is a common "problem" in every MMO, everyone wants to DPS, nobody wants to tank/heal. It was always like this and probably will continue to be.

And plenty of these tanks and healers have their own linkshells and friends to pug for a premade roulette/eso spam without having to put up with (most of) the random element that would disagree with the dps part of tank/healer. I just pub-roulette for when I miss the boat.

Its this, plus a Tank/Heal main might also want to level up the buffet of DPS roles for variety (or to learn their abilities hands-on like myself) and therefore are taking time out of tank/heal and taking up a DPS slot.

My only answer to anyoen struggling with queue lengths is use party finder or join an FC, or even (*gasp*) level up a tank/heal job yourself.

I'm on the NA data center and main a tank and I rarely see these groups everyone talks about. Every once and a while I get a doucher but for the most part everyone is chill and just does there thing. There is still a shortage of tanks and healers however. The new has worn off on the expansion classes and a lot of the flavor of the month people didn't make the cut and are going back to dps or whatever they played before.

I couldn't care less about dps as a tank. Maybe I'm in the minority, but instead of the currents dps stats on tank gear, they should have block, evasion and other tank stats. For dps we could have damage shields or ripostes on gear also so we do damage from being hit. I tank to be in the face of the boss and take the biggest hit they can dish out.

I agree, I don't mind tanking for friends or people who ask nicely. However for pugs or duty, I just can't bring myself to do it. I don't like pressure or risk of being yelled at for poor skills, which is odd cus I have zero issue when my FC is going as hard as they can but still. =/

I totally agree. I have War, Paladin and White Mage leveled and I don't DF much. I prefer to party with FC members and friends. It's not worth it. Too many in the DF are ready to have you do it their way or else. Who needs it.
