Aetherial Manipulation is also pretty fantastic.Well actually that was a misunderstanding on my part. I confused that with that other spell that teleports you. Now that I know what it is, yeah I'll start using it.
However some of the worst people this planet has had the unfortunate event of having exist on it, post on these forums. Just read general discussion, heh.
But do feel free to talk about how terrible everyone else on these forums are.
When in doubt, assume sarcasm
Healing the easy dungeons would bore me to tears if I didn't constantly try to push out some DPS in between.
You won't catch me DPSing unless I'm damn sure the tank isn't chewing paint chips.
I don't trust most random tanks to be anything more than a mediocre meat wall that forgot what defensive skills are. I'm right 90% of the time and the whole run is a never ending heal spamfest.
I got to say, that since folks complain about healers not dps'ing in a dungeon, how about tanks SHOULDN'T use STR gear outside their statics.

I despise tanks who want to go STR gear without their tank stance for the added defense. And then they wonder why I'm only using Holy when Swiftcast is up.You won't catch me DPSing unless I'm damn sure the tank isn't chewing paint chips.

it's really up to the healer if they wanna add dps to the group on occasions you come across DF groups that are....well dumber then a bucket of shrimp they got high Ilvl gear but havent got the slightest idea how to maximize their aggro or dps properly. But then not everyone can be hardcore or anything like that it's really up to the healer if they think they need to add in the dps. but yeah there are a few out there that watch netflix or are doing something that takes they're focus off the game aside from hit few cure 1 and cure 2 every on and then
I totally get what you're saying here, and it's one of the reasons I try to spread my def cd's accordingly. I think I do okay with them. My FC healers thank me for being "easy to heal" (whatever the hell that means), but I always worry about it, since I don't have a max level healer and have never really seen your side of the fence. I do, however, often wonder if healers have misconceptions about Tank dmg mitigation abilities.
Again, I have no first hand exp with it as a healer, so I don't know, but sometimes I see healers that seem to struggle with healing even when Def Cd's are up, and then have the gall to complain that I'm not using enough of my Cd's. It's like they think they're unlimited or something, and they don't seem to get that If I pop extra dmg mitigation skills in one fight then I risk having nothing up for the next fight. They also don't seem to realize that some of our Cd's are dmg specific. Bulwark, for example is a fantastic Pld Cd that boost block rate and, by extension, the use of shield Swipe. Instant boost to Def, Atk, and Enmity gen... but it only works on Physical incoming dmg. So, in fights like A4, for example, a Pld's shield is utterly useless. The only two Cd's they have that actually work on that boss are Rampart and Sentinel. Rampart is still (arguably) the best Def Cd in the game, but no matter how good the tank is, they can't have it up all the time. Yet healers frown at you for not having enough dmg mitigation.
Healers, at least, can "overheal" as long as they have Mp to use. Tanks, on the other hand, have a limited number of Cd's and can only use them when they're up. It's easy for everyone to point fingers at the tank (and a lot of the time they are right to do so) but sometimes there's only so much dmg they can mitigate without having to rely on the healer to stop whining and start healing.

Yup. You always have to feel out the party.
From my VP and experience healing in this game, 'easy to heal' is: 1. not dying in the first seconds of a pull, 2. not having to tank any mobs, 3. not having to heal an off tank BLM or SMN (strangely enough, these off tanks are generally easier to heal), 4. not pulling while I'm half a room away, 5. not running on while mobs are on me, 6. not having me spam healing and go OOM every pull, 6 1/2. not immediately pulling the next pack after #6 OR after a boss, 7. Let. Me. Freakin'. Put. Protect. On. The. Freakin'. Party. Damn. It., 8. and SS. Why do you run away from SS? It loves you! Every tank sees me casting SS and they flee, and finally: 9. NOT PULLING THE FIRST PACK WHILE I AM TRYING TO CAST PROTECT AND SS.
