    Fracture and Monk

    I was just told....

[22:51](Metal Overlord) You have Fracture on your monk?
    [22:51](Ginger Snap) yes
[22:51](Metal Overlord) Take it off. It is a DPS loss
    [22:51](Metal Overlord) A massive one
[22:51](Metal Overlord) Also waste of TP
[22:52](Metal Overlord) And does little damage on a monk
[22:52](Metal Overlord) Warrior only use it for filler even. They barely use it.

    Agree or disagree?

Not really, I use it from time to time as filler when my dots/buff still have few seconds before falling off. Since it's not reapply all the time, it's not much of a TP problem. Also it's use as a filler, how can it be a dps loss, we are not losing any dots/buff by using fracture, so fracture is added damage. The Monk-3.0-CHAKRA-UNLEASHED thread explained the usage of fracture in the first page.

Ever since 2.1 buffed melee, no drg use it, most monk I met never use it either.
War do want to keep fracture up though

Not even WAR does at all times because it delays their acquisition of Wrath stacks, which pushes back their next Fell Cleave or Inner Beast. On MNK, Fracture can occasionally be useful if you know you're going to be away from the boss for awhile, but that's about it.

The dps gained by Fracture is very small but its tp cost is pretty high for what it adds. I'm not a lvl 60 monk but to me it seems that if you are going to get some kind of tp regeneration or be away from the boss for a bit, like A1 adds, then Fracture is ok to use.
Seems like a waste of tp even with the Meditation

Doesn't it turn out to be like ~7DPS for ~5% more TP eaten if used rotationally?

From my understanding it's good if you need to delay a global or before you have to pull off a mob.

Fracture is not part of your rotation so you don't keep reapplying it. For me if Demolish have 4-5s before falling off, it's too early to reapply Demolish, so I will apply fracture first. It's done in a way that it doesn't interfere with your normal rotation, doesn't cause your buff/debuff to fall off, otherwise it's going to be a dps loss.

The thing to remember is not to overuse it and causing tp drain on yourself and cause rotational error. TBH I am still not used to using fracture so sometimes I forgot about it, I have mostly use it in A1S, where I don't really need to worry about TP due to the downtime.

It is a gain, but it's incredibly marginal. It IS there, but honestly it can be hard to even notice. I like the suggestion of only using it to draw out Demolish when Touch doesn't have priority. Also as long as it doesn't interfere with your DK / Twin timers - if you know you would otherwise inevitably hit the "wrong" side for your next move and take a potency hit you could tag Fracture instead until you get good positioning again.

I use Fracture when the boss moves away and I can't target for what every reason. It may not be good but nice to have.

It seems like it's "okish" to weave into the opener (looking at the new MNK guide thread) but overall it isn't something you keep up 100% on the time.

Also the dps difference between using it and not is so tiny you're probably better off NOT using it due to the dps loss that could happen if you mess it up.
