I too have noticed an increasing trend in this lately. I've always preached about how gamers attitudes (in general) seem to be getting worse and worse as the years go by, but I was always hoping to be proved wrong on that. Sadly, it seems I'm actually right about that preaching though.

While nice people ARE out there and I've had my share of DF runs that went smooth as butter, I've been noticing an increasing level of impatience and hostility from the people playing FFXIV lately. Not to mention an increasing lack of basic communication. It's as if everyone has turned into this guy who auto expects everyone around to skip cutscenes (even if you haven't watched them yet) and automatically know every battle like the back of their hand. And if a wipe happens? No basic communication to explain why, which last I checked, is a vital thing to do in an MMO.

I'm not sure why this is becoming more and more of a problem, but I've noticed it. Far too much in fact. The next 24 man raid dungeons are going to be a dozy at this rate.

It's also why I haven't bothered to try tackling Alexander NM via Duty Finder yet.

Someone tried to kick me from a dungeon because I queued for levelling roulette and after seeing 2 new people on Sastasha, I said "Take your time seeing the cutscenes and just have fun, I'll keep everyone alive". If you don't have enough time for a dungeon and want to kick people because they want the other players to view the cutscenes and have fun, DO NOT queue at all.

Basically the main reason i stopped queueing with "English" as the main language since 2 years ago. Not saying all NA players are bad like that because i've played with some really nice people but.. the probability to encounter a toxic one is at a ratio of 8:10

Since Heavensward came out, I've noticed a disturbing trend: Do it my way or **** off.
I generally run instances with my FC, but occasionally a girl's got to pug an instance. With that, I've encountered a long stream of "I don't want to do it that way /votekickmemberwhosuggestedit"

Are you kidding the atmosphere is much worse in Duty Finder in FF14 than LFG in WoW. maybe the NA WoW servers are worse but not the European ones.

I've had many worse experiences in DF than LFG since it has been released circa 2009. You find a lot of these players have never played WoW.

Well i had an BRD yesterday evening that refused to use Minuette in Expert Roullete.
First Boss took us 8 min long and he was running arround like a retard and died.

Not an obvious troll. Perhaps just a bard who doesn't like the fact that they've been turned into casters. Personally I don't like what they did although I will admit I have been getting used to the new mechanics and use them just about all the time now.

This sounds like people. It sucks, but having grown up around some very similar people outside of video games you kind of learn when to smile and bite your tongue. Don't escalate it. You'll be away from them soon enough.

Same thing in retail. We had everything from guys who'd follow women around to women who'd scream at employees for not having the right flavor of ice cream.

My main activity in FFXIV is dungeons and usually with PUGs. I've seen some really shitty attitudes and behaviors since ARR launch.

Recently I have noticed an increase in what you describe. I play a healer and my husband a tank and we're both quite competent, but he usually doesn't pull unreasonable amounts of enemies. Despite this, the pulls/runs are always quick. I've noticed a lot of DPS trying to force speed runs by "subtly" aggroing additional groups of enemies without saying a word.

I've also seen a lot of people queuing for leveling parties and having zero patience for new players. This one makes me pretty sad.

I assume this is caused by a lot of people who are grinding tombstones/progression and becoming extremely impatient and tunnel visioned to their own needs.
