Since Heavensward came out, I've noticed a disturbing trend: Do it my way or **** off.
I generally run instances with my FC, but occasionally a girl's got to pug an instance. With that, I've encountered a long stream of "I don't want to do it that way /votekickmemberwhosuggestedit"
Example 1: Go into DV with a friend, both melee dps. Finally get a queue and not halfway to the first boss, the tank says he's gotta watch his aggro these dps are all over the place. I assume he MT'd, otherwise referring to us like we weren't actually there was just rude. To which we respond that if he marks, we'll follow. Begins a train of the tank complaining that "it's not that hard to <tt>" and just downright refusing to mark and my friend explaining that marking would be easy too. Friend gets kicked.
Example 2: Went into A3 normal with half the party as pugs. No one says a word, but it looks like they're doing Soak Method. I don't personally know much about this method other than heal heal heal, so I can't speak to mechanics. As soon as liquid splits, the other tank starts yelling and throwing a tantrum. Apparently they wanted him to be in a certain direction, but instead of shifting to meet the fact he didn't, they raged. We wipe and they continue their hate without a single explanation of what they wanted him to change and kick our FC tank. When I confronted them about their behavior, their response was "it gets more toxic the closer it gets to reset."
Example 3: Went into Titan Ex solo and a Ninja told the Warrior to mark himself when he needed Goad. This was after the TP bar had been introduced to the party menu. Brought it up and he claimed he was going to be "too busy" to look at it. Really? This guy became so ridiculous with his attitude, I initiated a vote kick, to which met with a resounding hallelujah.
The net net of this is: What has happened to our helpful community and where has this screw you mentality come from?? I've been playing since 2.0 launch and have never seen it this bad (save for those special tower runs).
