Do you remember why the first primal was created?

Bahamut, the first primal, was created by the Meracydians out of sorrow because of what the Allagan Empire did. The Garleans use Allagan technology now and look up to them and their ideals. It's a circle of hate that the Ascians propagate, but even if the beastmen were all gone, do you think the hate would be all gone? The problem is exactly this: some think they are better than others and anyone who does not follow their point of view deserves to be trampled upon. The Allagans thought that way, the Garleans think that way. The beastmen were given a "tool" (primal summoning) by the Ascians, as were the Ishgardians. It's because of their feeling of helplessness and "there is no other way!" that they summoned primals. Remember that primals are embodiment of "prayers".

I understand where you are coming from but I hope you reconsider that line of thinking after reading this post. We've had enough genocides.

I disagree with the idea of an Alliance with the Garleans. It's not just about eliminating the Primal threat, with them it's also about taking control of as many lands as possible. They're an "empire" because they believe in conquest and that all nations other than their own are wasting their potential. I somehow doubt they became as powerful as they have through mutually accepted teamwork of all the nations on their continent deciding to join as one. While Eorzea has shown to be a powerful force as well, we've also never faced the full force of the Garlean Empire, just small segments of it, which were enough to bring Eorzea to the brink both times. Undoubtedly, attempting to ally with them will at best prevent outright war for as long as they are attempting to infiltrate the Eorzean ranks to undermine it from within.....

No matter how much we point out the fallacies that the empire displays, all we're going to get as a response is "Well other nations done things just as worse so it's fine for the empire" and "they know what's best for us because they take action"

I've been told that two wrongs do indeed make a right.
