I did I get that they imprisoned her and and Bahumut what I don't get is why she wants to stay in self imposed prison for all eternity to "atone". So thats a great idea instead of moving forward and trying to atone with actions and conviction lets wallow in our self despair forever.

There is generally a running theme with the Celestial Dragons of being so caught up in the past that they are almost blind to the needs of the present. Frankly they all kind of need a wake up call to remember they all have a brood alive today that could probably do with some care.
