We should ally with the Garleans

You're all taking this to heart a little too much, besides history isn't all sunshine and roses with the good guys fighting the bad guys no matter what country you use as an example. Any nation that's existed could be seen as 'evil' based on the criteria people are calling it out on. War in general is a horrible thing and in the case of such wars any nation would pretty much have the "follow us or die" mentality, I'm sure the eorzean alliance does.

Garlemald is the nation responsible for most of the War and conflict that Eorzea has. Even the primals are mostly due to Garlemald's attacks and invasions. While the Eorzean city states aren't flawless, they aren't the ones starting all the problems and when either they play with the ideas of primals or of starting conflicts on a bigger scale we tend to oppose them. Garlemald's actions are the reason most of the beasttribes are trying to summon Primals in the first place. The only ones that that doesn't apply to are the Kobolds and the Gnath.

Even Ishgard, who has some of the biggest issues, is mainly just focused on self defense.

War in general is a horrible thing. How do you think is starting most of the wars?
