No thanks, Garleans are like the Templars/Stone Masons and illuminati of our age, corrupt, lol

You're all taking this to heart a little too much, besides history isn't all sunshine and roses with the good guys fighting the bad guys no matter what country you use as an example. Any nation that's existed could be seen as 'evil' based on the criteria people are calling it out on. War in general is a horrible thing and in the case of such wars any nation would pretty much have the "follow us or die" mentality, I'm sure the eorzean alliance does.
Honestly, Garleans did not care about the Primal threat up until the Domans or somewhere in Othard summoned a Primal to fight against them.
It's quite an ironic self-fulfilling prophecy: Garleans don't trust people/ beast tribes so they pre-emptively kill them > beast tribes and people don't trust them so they try to summon their god(s) or warriors from the past and then the cycle continues.
I wonder if we'll be getting rid of the Asciens this expansion?
Anyways, what I like about this game is that there are some grey areas here and there and that none of the city-states are exactly perfect.
* Ul'dah speaks for itself
* Gridania was/is very Xenophobic; discriminating immigrants for the rest of their lives (mentioned by Mionne and Fufucha). The woodwailers are starting to get even more corrupt and using that authority to take advantage of Keeper Miqote and Duskwights
* Limsa Lominsa broke their treaty with Kobolds and I think instigated the war with Sahagin. They hired Mamool Ja to be mercenaries, but now that they don't need them anymore they're not willing to get a ship for them to travel back to their homeland; they are now without a home and are slowly becoming a nuisance to limsa. While it's still reforming, the streets aren't very safe yet. Based on the AST storyline, women get kidnapped and sold into sex slavery; hence why there's usually an escort. Probably same for men to an extent
* Ishgard is just like Gridania, but if you're unlucky enough to get the wrong attention of a noble and be accused of Heresy then you'll either have a trial by combat or jump off a cliff
* Ala Mhigo seems to be very kill happy based on some of the refugees we see and its history. They're the reason why the concept of GCs exists.
* Sharlayan not much is known other than they hoard knowledge like the syndicate hoards money. The Garleans, apparently viewed them as a threat. Willing to watch Eorzea be conquered by Garlemald. Created Alexander and there's probably something wrong about them that's being kept secret
I remember when we had to disguise ourselves as garlean soldiers (lol) and we briefly got to know some of the soldiers we got group up with. They were just soldiers with families to go to and very normal ... until we killed them

Doubt it, I think they'll always be a large threat till the end, i mean really the storyline is more about two crystals fighting eachother, removing them would just leave the garleans which would probably be simpler to defeat since they are bound to the same predictable rulesets as anyone else living on hydaelyn, whereas the acsians are otherwordly, almost in a lovecraftian way. (barring mutative gods but you get the idea)Honestly, Garleans did not care about the Primal threat up until the Domans or somewhere in Othard summoned a Primal to fight against them.

Complete genocide is unnecessary. The only ones that need to be killed are the tempered ones. If Ul'dah wasn't busy fighting Garleans, they'd march an army right into Zan'rak and clean house on them. The Garleans are the ones complicating matters by continually trying to take over the continent, forcing the city-states to waste resources on fighting them. Their offer to handle the beastmen problem for us "if we only kneel" is facepalm worthy. If they were really concerned about the beastmen, they'd let the Eorzean's sort it out and then move in to conquer the city-states when they are recovering.
Garlemald is the nation responsible for most of the War and conflict that Eorzea has. Even the primals are mostly due to Garlemald's attacks and invasions. While the Eorzean city states aren't flawless, they aren't the ones starting all the problems and when either they play with the ideas of primals or of starting conflicts on a bigger scale we tend to oppose them. Garlemald's actions are the reason most of the beasttribes are trying to summon Primals in the first place. The only ones that that doesn't apply to are the Kobolds and the Gnath.You're all taking this to heart a little too much, besides history isn't all sunshine and roses with the good guys fighting the bad guys no matter what country you use as an example. Even Ishgard, who has some of the biggest issues, is mainly just focused on self defense.
War in general is a horrible thing. How do you think is starting most of the wars?
Well Ala mhigo also attempted conquest of eorzea, but now because they were defeated by a better they are "good guys", there have also been various wars throughout eorzea alone. One of which destroyed the world (again) and ended an era.Garlemald is the nation responsible for most of the War and conflict that Eorzea has. Sure, stuff has happened in the past. However what happening now is Garlemald is the one causing the issues. If it was Ala Mhigo or Ishgard or even any of the starting three nations we would probably be opposing them. Technically we sort of do with Ishgard.
If Garlemald stopped attacking everyone, messing with things they shouldn't be and causing most of the problems we probably wouldn't be treating them as enemies.
