Every few weeks there's always someone wanting to "join the empire". Sorry to say, but you're gonna be railroaded as the good guy forever.

Oh and if people are still thinking that the empire is "good" because they want to rid the world of primals, then it's very convenient how everyone forgets how aggressive said empire is when it comes to expanding its territory. But I guess no one cares about that. Go ask your fellow Highlander or any Au Ra how they feel about the empire, hm?

Oh and if people still think killing all beastmen is the way to go because "all beastmen=primal worshippers", then either those people have not done any beastmen quests or haven't progressed far enough in 3,0 to see why not all of them are the same.

The real threat is not the Primals or the Beastmans who summon them. Its the one that teaches them the way of summoning, aka the Ascians. Aslong as the Ascians are alive, the Primals will come. The Ascians will teach every soul that is desperate to find salvation the way of summoning.

We should ally with the Garleans, to fight the Ascians.

I don't think you realize that you can't "ally" with the Garleans. In their view, it's submit or die. It was very explicitly stated when the city leaders met to discuss the Garlean terms of surrender.

We've only seen one side of Garlemald - and it'd be a real shame to see such an intriguing part of the setting reduced to a generic evil empire. We need more figures like Gabranth and Drace from FFXII who...actually remain loyal to their homeland (unlike Cid and Lucia) whilst still being likeable and relatable.

Besides, if it wasn't for the Garleans having conquered Ala Mhigo then Eorzea would still be at war with itself. Something to bear in mind.
It may be the only side we're shown, but the official mission statement of the Garlean Empire is genocide; that is to say, mass killings on a group solely based on the conditions of their birth. The who or whys do not matter at that point.

That's false - not every Garlean supported Nael when he sought to bring Dalamud down upon Eorzea. Nor is Eorzea free of sin when it comes to genocide given all the war and conflict that has taken root within the continent itself. The Ishgardians and Ala Mhigans are the prime culprits for that - though they're not without redeeming qualities. I doubt Garlemald is without redeeming qualities - because if it is, then the story would become very boring.

Yet I'm 99% certain that it will be painted in a more sympathetic light. After all, we only saw one side of the conflict with the Dravanians and most people brushed them off as evil.

I didn't even mention Dalamud, I was talking about when the Scions were kidnapped, and the GC leaders and Nanamo were sent the Garlean terms of surrender which was "unconditional or be obliterated by Ultima Weapon."

It doesn't matter who is in the Garlean Empire at this point. THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR THE EXTERMINATION OF ALL LIFE THAT DOESN'T BELONG TO THEM. If you don't want to go on a race ending killing spree, then you have no reason to join the Garleans.

People also forget that Cid is still very well liked by his people, his flagging for treason made him even more so. They aren't all in agreeance with their monarchy's way.

There are at least there are at least 6 (counting Thordin's lot as one) and potentially as many as 9 primals we currently know about that had nothing to do with the beasttribes. One of those, Bahamut, was the result of Allag hubris, which currently is a trait Garlemald seems incline to imitate. The meteor project show the type of mad ideas they are willing to greenlight.

As for the beasttribes, in most cases the conflict and summoning is driven by desperation. The sylphs are constantly being invaded by the local Garleans, the Kobolds only summoned Titan after they were attack by Limsa and the Sahagin need the lands they took for spawning grounds because the calamity destroyed their old ones. In all three of those cases there is plenty of opportunity to find peace thus removing the need for conflict. Hell, in the Sahagin's case we aren't fighting their full strength at the moment. Most adult Sahagin stay beneath the waves.

The Garlean's current solution is unethical, arrogant and flawed. Plus hunting down all the Ascians is easily said than done. To the vast majority of the world, there is no way to even sense them. They could walk through the middle of a high security Garlean base and no one would notice them. Infact the only thing that made our base of operations safe was the blessing of Light.

Yeah, a lot of Garleans opposed project Meteor, but Nael's will was not exactly all his own, he was being influenced by outside influences as well.
