    What are your thoughts on this stoneskin change...

    I have always had this thing against stoneskin due to its MP cost, Cast Time, and amount shielded. I know it's good when tanks are about to eat a tank buster and desperately need that extra mitigation, but then I have tanks casting stoneskin on themselves (pld only) and I still don't need to cast it. I thought, this ability really needs something unique for White Mage use...

    That being said, I was thinking what if for White Mage only, it had no MP cost, Instant Cast, off the GCD? Instead of the trait lowering the cast time by .5 seconds, why not do that?

    What are everyones thoughts?

    I'd be happy if they changed the Overcure proc to provide a free instant Stoneskin instead

    It's sucks. They should have made it a full second or have a 20% of no cast time or no MP cost. .5 seconds on a skill typically only used for a big hit isn't very noticeable.

    I think it was taken away due to people using it to shield through fights like Ramuh 1 tank. Lustrate and Stoneskins. They should have just made Stoneskin a potency like Lustrate.

    I believe you're correct as to why they took it away. They could have changed it to a potency-based number rather than percentage, but it would've significantly lowered it's usefulness on tanks, which is what people use it for most. In fact, if it was potency-based, I wouldn't even bother with it at all.

    I do think the trait for SS needs to be better for WHMs; the reduced cast time is nice, but it doesn't make it any more useful, really. What it needs to be changed to isn't my business, but I do think that the SS trait (and Medica trait) are both very lackluster in comparison to their previous traits.

    it would require to be a spell instead of an ability to have no mp cost and instant, since it would also need a separate cooldown.
    Instead i would prefer something like a conversion of heal into shield for the next healing ability used, kinda the opposite of emergency tactic.
    Like "next healing ability will cost +50% mp, and sacrifice 25% of its healing output into shield", with the addition of not being able to stack this with either Ast and Sch shields.
    That would make whm able to make some mitigation and still be into his "aspect" of mp management and overhealing gestion.

    Ast and Sch are both able to use some 650(benefic II)-1200(ET+adloquium crit)+ potency heals, why couldnt be have a 100(SS+cure)-162.5(SS+cure II) potency shield like that ?

    I hate that they changed the percentage blocked, and the faster cast time doesn't make up for it.

    the main reason seems to be that it was OP when used on npcs. 18% from like a million HP is extremely strong (though 10% is still quite powerfull)

    18% or 10%, at 1mil hp nothing stops me from sitting there and spam stoneskin on the npc. Mainly on WHM where i can just ignore the npc completely and lol benediction and it will hold itself up for another 5 mins without healing.
