My design was shown off in the livestream (male no.13) and made it into the contest. There may have been others but I simply didn't bother to check.

Ah! Thanks for pointing that out.
Maybe the others weren't chosen because they posted it on social media... I bet a lot of hairstyles weren't chosen because of that?

heynowjose: I also love this game and community. If stating my opinion (albeit negative) about the way the Dev team handled a situation reflects my lack of appreciation and love, then I am not sure what the point forum based feedback is. I don't consider it "entitlement" if I am unhappy with the way something was portrayed. Especially if that something is supposed to be geared toward the community. I am part of the community, and I am only expressing my thoughts.
Ladon: And maybe you should! A lot of the contests focus heavily on artistic merit. If you feel that there should be more contests that don't require art, then yes, petition. Speak your mind. Let the team know. If you don't say anything at all, then how will the proper channels know that there is an upset happening? If this was a sarcastic response, then I am not sure how to address this.
I am not going to insult you in fact I love this thread and what you are trying for(: but here is the thing, the forums is "If you disagree with the status quo you need to leave! We are the best gaming community *Super high pitch scream of a hellish beast*" Not everyone is like this but the people who will say the game is perfect are going to try and derail you. Don't let them, you are voicing your opinion and you are allowed to have that.

Savvy: I do, in fact, have respect for the dev team. I respect their choices. I don't agree with their choices. I don't agree in the way in which things were handled. And I am not saying my opinion is everyone's opinion. As I stated, I am only trying to see if anyone else agrees with me so that, if given enough support on the matter, we can vocalize efficiently to the dev team so that they can know how we (the in supporters of my thoughts) feel. I respect they can make their own judgements with that information. And I agree that it was a nice idea for them to give us this opportunity. I don't think what opportunity we got was what was necessarily advertised. If they want us to influence the game and in game styles, that's fantastic and generous. But with anything, they are providing a service at the end of the day, and as consumers, we should give feedback on their methods, good or bad, regardless of our differing stances.

Black_Rose: Someone already responded to this, but I feel that I should say that, in my opinion, there wasn't a lack of creativity or originality, but more that a lot of the styles are very similar to what we have in game or similar to another finalist choice. Or even... similar if not the same as another FF character.
Mykll: Well, I respect your opinion about my thread. I don't agree, but it's valid.
OfTheWhitewind: I guess, but really... we are in the voting process for what we want to see implemented (as the community does with a lot of these contests). Isn't that democracy?
(Apologizes for multiple posts. It seems I can only post 1000 characters at a time, which makes this cumbersome)

lynn: Again, I am sorry if my word choices offended you. I feel they intended to give us a mile. I also feel they shorted us on that mile in the end. I am aware that not everyone can be pleased all the time, which is why I make a preliminary thread to find those who aren't please so that was can speak our mind in a productive fashion instead of staying silent. Even if nothing happens of this thread and it gets eaten by time, that is OK. I feel that I made a valiant effort to express myself, and I hope that others will be comfortable to speak their minds here as well.
Elim: Of course! I am not begrudging you for liking the selection. I apologize if I made it seem like I was personally putting you into my box. I know that you and many others have no qualms with the way this is progressing. That is most excellent! However, this thread was to, again, see if anyone shared *my* opinions.

StriderShinryu: Yes, some of the styles were ripped straight from a previous FF game, or "inspired" by a pre-existing game or anime. I feel they could have chosen some finalists with varying styles and concepts. A lot of the selection share very similar qualities and aspects which make it hard for me, as a voter, to chose "Which straight hair with bangs and or side pony tail is better than the other straight hairs with bangs and or side pony tails?"
Sterre: No thread is complete without the adorable cat meme.
Ranzan: There seems to be a discrepancy between the rules and what was chosen. I am not sure what the official guidelines of selection were, but I'd be interested in knowing. Even if this thread dies a horrible inactive death, I'd like clarification. I think that'd do just fine.

Eye_Gore: I don't think it matters one way or another if I submitted or didn't. I did, in actuality, but my feelings wouldn't have changed if I didn't. I am not saying that my personal submission should have been picked, because maybe it wasn't what people were looking for. I can live with this. I am more upset with the selection that was picked and the way in which the contest played out. The contest rules stated particular guidelines that some of the finalist pieces didn't follow. The quantity of finalists is also less than what was previous mentioned (if you can find anything proving me wrong on this, please! Let me know) and the "who votes for what" is different. The contest page made it seem like Japanese forums would vote for Japanese finalists, EU for EU and NA for NA. Instead, it feels like an unbalanced amount of all three into one big voting pool.
Seriously, why only 1K characters? This is the last reply I had written out, so at least there is that.
