I might be wrong, but un-liking a post and then liking it again would likely be considered your latest like, thus making it the one that counts.
But this only matters if the rule in question isn't just referencing the scarf lottery.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
You are asked to vote for one male, one female, hence "Entries." If you voted multiple times, and you're concerned as to the one you truly want to vote for not getting credit, you should "unlike" the additional ones.
It sounds like that's just for the scarf thing. I could be wrong, but.
So you won't get more entries the more you "like" hairstyles, it'll just count your last like as your entry for the scarf, if that makes sense.* In order to receive a Scarf of Wondrous Wit from the voting participation sweepstakes on a specific character, you will need to set that character as your main character on the forum, and use this character to press the “Like!” button. After the voting period has concluded, we will be sending prizes to characters that were set as main characters as of September 6, 2015 at 11:00 p.m. PDT. Selected winners will receive their prizes via Moogle Delivery and there will be no announcement as to who was selected for the sweepstakes.
* “Likes!” will only be counted for the last entry you vote on.
Now that I've read everything again, and the posts here, it sounds like you get entered in the scarf sweepstakes for voting at all. The "only your last like counts" is probably referring to the actual voting on hairstyles, as some folks above have pointed out. Vote for one male and one female style, and they're counting the last vote you made for each.
But again, I could be wrong! I have no idea anymore! Either way, I went back and removed all but one vote in either category.
Just wanted to bump this and point out that the contest rules have been updated. As of this morning they say to please vote for one male and one female hairstyle. Only your last "like" counts towards the winning hairstyle.
Greetings,
We've added additional details to the Hairstyle Design Contest announcement in regards to voting to hopefully clarify questions we've been seeing. (Additions in bold)

* Due to the way the forum works, the number of "Likes!" will increase each time they are selected; however, only the final "Like!" from each user will be counted, and there may be instances where the numbers shown on the forum are different than the actual results.

I still think the "only the last like" thing is an issue. A lot of people are probably going to/have seen those threads without seeing the rules thread (think links passed around FC chat and similar), and the system allowing them to like as many posts as want biases the results towards later entries...
Wouldn't it have been better just to tell people to "Only Vote for One male and One Female style. Multiple votes in one category will not be counted properly. if you Liked multiple entries in one category, only your last vote will count for the tally".
I just think it needs more emphasis on basically only "Liking" one entry male and one for female. The wording is what's confusing people.
This is really unacceptable. Now my vote, and I'm sure many others, is not for the style I would have chosen had the rules been made clear from the start. At the very least a new Lodestone post should have been made. Making a phantom edit to the rules halfway through the contest, and not making the rule change clear, is unfair to everyone that voted early.
I don't expect the contest to be redone, but I'm extremely disappointed with how this was handled.

Just went though and unchecked all my likes and only selected one for each male and female. Was a hard choice!
