In other news, how is hairstyle 8 for females winning? It's pretty boring.

I don't know. Maybe because the picture is well done. I personally don't think it'd look good on our characters because we don't have anime face proportions like the model does.

What was your entry like?

mine was this one. I don't really mind it wasn't chosen but I'd like to have a hairstyle that was more elegant.. like a fancy dinner kind of style. I'd also like to not have bangs.. hell I'd like if they just made the hairstyle I have on my character now without the bangs.

Is it really too much that some of them are quite complicated? Anyhow, what did you expect? It is a Japanese game, and it looks like a large amount of these were Japanese entries.

A few of them are somewhat simple but traditional japanese hairstyles we've seen so many times already. I wanted to point out there's hairstyles outside of Japanese comfort zone. Still, i'd like to see CURRENT hair fashion, not the same old things from the past games. The entries are not bad, just not my cup of tea.

I personally like 16 a lot. A lot of these hairstyles are nice, but they are really highlighted by the face they're attached to. This is where the issue comes into play. Would they actually look good on your character model and not the face given? That's what I feel about 21 and 8 for Females. Don't get me wrong, they're good too. But it worries me.

I feel like a lot of the votes are based on art style rather than the actual hairstyle.

I'm not gonna lie - I'm pretty disappointed with what's on offer. I mean, yeah - at the end of the day it's a Final Fantasy game - but I think we're in dire need of some more 'normal' looking hairstyles for both men and women. I'd love some more short hairstyles for male characters that aren't too unusual.

Maybe I'm in the minority, though? I don't know - but I'm not even opposed to unusual hairstyles provided they look pretty cool...but I feel like most of the entries are just bland or blatant attempts to be 'pseudo-anime'.
