Wonder if they plan to add a replacement hairstyle since we are one short now.

Not likely they will -- not only do they have a deadline for getting a result from this contest (since the hairstyle has been promised with 3.1 and needs to be actually created/rendered before then, in addition to other things still being done for that patch), but afaik most competitions don't grab someone in halfway through the "race" just because one contestant got themselves disqualified ^^; Mostly because they'd have a serious disadvantage, trying to catch up. The only "fair" solution to the one brought in would be to reset all the scores or start over, which would mean extending the ending date to give everyone a chance to vote, which isn't really possible with the deadlines they're sitting on ^^;
(Sure, it COULD be done, but the larger the company is, the more difficult it is to change things on the fly.)

Not that I voted for it, I can't even remember what it looked like xD but it would suck for those who voted for it and don't return to vote on another one (because they don't check back to see it got removed).

Players who “Like!” finalist entries during the voting period will be entered into a Sweepstakes, and we will be randomly selecting 140 players and awarding them with a Scarf of Wondrous Wit.

In order to receive a Scarf of Wondrous Wit from the voting participation sweepstakes on a specific character, you will need to set that character as your main character on the forum, and use this character to press the “Like!” button. After the voting period has concluded, we will be sending prizes to characters that were set as main characters as of September 6, 2015 at 11:00 p.m. PDT. Rereading it after coffee, yeah.... it just says you have to vote.

Log into the official forums and press the “Like!” button for the design entries that you like the most. The entries for the male and female hairstyles with the most “Likes!” will be chosen as the winners.

I think that it is slightly easy to miss interpret this as the votes on the most likes will be entered. I read it right at first, but then got to second guessing after ashelia's reply xD.

I missed it too at first, but right before the red text it says:

That's in regards to the hairstyles themselves, not the sweepstake. Along with the fact that it doesn't say you have to vote on the winning one to be entered, it would be incredibly silly of them to do so, as it may get some people to vote on the current leading one in order to win the prize.

Oh, never actually read the rules, I just read elsewhere that the contest was only drawing from the winning hairstyle like pool.
