Hairstyle voting begins!

whats the hype about 8 and 21 they got all the votes maybe because the art is really well made and kawaii manga heroine
personally i wanted more futuristic hairstyles I wanted a Faith(Mirror's edge) inspired hairstyle
oh and 21 is the only HQ one whats up with that :c
i feel so sad that i followed all the rules and even made variations in every variation different hair colors and how my hairstyle would look without humanoid ears with miqote ears and with horns and was 2.6 MB I will post it on the other Thread

tbh i don't know why they made it free art, the point of the contest was hairstyles for your character in-game not drawing contest. They could give us more in-game bases from all the races like the hyur base that they had in the contest info and for the people who didn't want to draw, photos.

I'm one of the people who is disappointed by the styles chosen as the finalists for botj male and female entries. It isn't just sour grapes on my end for not being picked but I feel that many of the hairstyles are similar, either in their design or to what we already have in the game- especially in the female category. Furthermore, I feel that the majority of the hairstyles picked as finalists would not look good on all of the races (namely the Roegs but on some level, I expected that).
I clearly misunderstood the rules when I read them because I thought that SE would let us vote on the entries we liked the most, not that they would have people pick which entries they liked best and then have us vote on those. So I expected to see a lot of entries for us to vote for, then the popular ones would go and advance to the next 'stage' and so on until we were left with the winners. If it were handled in this way I feel that then the results would have been closer to what the community wanted.
In retrospect, I also wish that SE was a bit more strict about how entries were handled. I feel as if many people are voting on the art style rather than the hair style.
I also wish that the hairstyles were separated by region as well as style- short, medium, long, etc. =\

I voted for female #16 and male #23. At least 23 looks close to Aymeric's as someone else mentioned earlier.

I really hope #8 (for females) wins! We need more cute short hairstyles. Although all the entries are great, people did a fantastic job with these!

First : The contest wasnt open to all countrys . Why ? ( that as it is, to be honest is not fair because we all pay the subscription fee every month,plus being a virtual reward and all i dont see any reason or whatsoever not to do it)

Second : Ive seen some beautiful entries right here in the forum, that arent in the final cut. And at the opposite side , ive see some of the ugliest, most disappointing hairstyles in the final cut. ( By the way, its not personal taste , its reality )

If you want players to give their best , you gotta be up to par with that SE.

With that in mind ,please dont do more contest like this SE, because i bet some people worked really hard to do something interesting and got cut off by what seems a rng selection of finalists.. A BAD ONE . Yes i said it .

Conclusion : If you dont have time SE, dont do it . k?.. Simple.

PS : Im seeing some of the finalists... i dont even know if i should laugh or cry.

Disappointed. None of these are...unique. Same styles that are already present. I voted for a few but...meh...and waited for this too.

I would like to add, I also think the votes might be a little biased because of artistic skill that makes the overall entry look better. I think the template should have been enforced so we focused on the hairstyles and not the artistic ability. In game it can or cannot have the same appealing effect. 2D does not always translate well to 3D. I say this as an artist myself.

A couple of the male entries with the highest votes probably have that many votes simply because of the nicely drawn models that are attached to the hair. I don't think those models would have been nearly as appealing if they were on the actual given template, rather than complementing the cute and bishōnen art style of everything below the hair.

Yeah, exactly. For example there's one that caught my eye the most because of the hairstyle itself and I bet it would've looked better with more artistic ability but it has low votes for that simple fact. #22 in this case. Another example: We already have a side ponytail hairstyle that looks very similar to #1 and the photo entry. Yet #1 has an insanely high amount of votes. I would like to think people want to see new and diverse things in hairstyles they could choose instead of similar hairstyles again.
