Hairstyle voting begins!

I don't get why female #8 and #16 are so popular. We already have a million braid hairstyles in games.
I was really hoping we'd see something different but looks like we'll be getting more of the same.
I'm not partial to female #21 but at least it isn't yet another braid hairstyle.

Because the drawing is good/cute.
People fail to realise how it will actually look ingame and on different races.

No, it's because they actually look like women's hair.

No. 16 = Jane Fonda in the 80s

No. 22 = female layered hair with headband

No. 23 = modern female you might see on the runway (actually reminds me of a style Halle Berry has had in the past)

Male#16: the color is very misleading. Besides, it's so close to #15 that I don't know why they picked both.
Male#22: you probably never saw a guy with mid-long hair with a headband. I've seen plenty. So it's probably cultural difference here.
Male#23: agreed on that one. It looks boyish at most (which is why I put it on a Roegadyn). It will be probably okay on a Lalafell or a Midlander at best.

Weren't these designs supposed to be original? Female 9? That's from one of YOUR games, guys. Female 20? Misa from Deathnote. Then we have hairstyles that look almost exactly like one another and somehow are considered unique? Seriously. How did some of these get through?

Yes I thought so too. That hairstyle screams Quistis all over. Perhaps we misunderstood the rules that clearly (or vaguely?) said "your design must be originally made by you". If I had known I'd have just drawn the hairstyle of my favourite FF character. :P

To be honest, I did my research on the forum before designing my hairstyles (made 12 sketches of different styles based on what the community was asking for and a bit of what I would like to see in the game) and one of the things I remember writing down was "no more ribbons/accessories" and "more free hair flow, curly, wavy or messy hair, also as long as it can possibly be made within the template" but I can't seem to see any of that in the entries. The closest one to that concept I was striving for is #4. Albeit mine was very different but was going for that flowy wavy messy hair look. Definetely not very inspired by any of the female hairstyles and as for the male ones, I actually liked two that were shown in the live letter that were short ponytail. I think they were fantastic. Was hoping to see at least one of them in the final selection but they are not there. Humbly and honestly, I am disappointed in the final selection for both categories. Now we are kind of forced to vote for one but it doesn't mean this expresses accurately what the community was looking for in hairstyles which I thought was the point of the contest (besides saving the Devs time in having to design one).

Same.. I kind of wish they'd just posted all of the entries and let us handle it ourselves lol.. I know there were probably hundreds (thousands?) but I think it would have been worth it to see the real response from the community. It's like we're saying "I'd sure love a strawberry right now" and they respond with "Here! Pick one of these vegetables!"
