id worry about getting your full law tome gear and upgrading a few pieces. i think 170 is minimum but meeting the minimum doesnt necessarily get passed the dps checks
I would actually enter normal Alex as soon as you get 170. The content isn't all that steep and as long as you are comfortable with your own rotation you will do fine.
and the drops in Alex ca supplement the law tome items? is that correct?![]()

alex normal gear is 190. law gear is 170, then 180 when upgraded. but you should have a half assed plan on how you wish to approach your alexander loot. do you want pieces asap (rolling mostly on chain and bolts) or plan for the long run (going for your springs and shafts which will take a few weeks of clearing)

edit: note you get a free bolt (accessory) after your first clear of floor 4 and completing the quest

Also, do your expert duty roulette each day until you reach your 450 Esoteric weekly cap. You can buy ilvl 200 gear with this.
Also you will pick up a lot of Law Tomestones doing that to buy your ilvl 170 gear.
You can get two springs per week or one spring and one shaft per week, though if you are only rolling this one class for a good while and potentially doing savage (I haven't attempted because I'm a dirty casual =D) you could also supplement with esoteric time gear which is i200 and would take probably just as long but less of a headache in duty finder ^^alex normal gear is 190. law gear is 170, then 180 when upgraded. but you should have a half assed plan on how you wish to approach your alexander loot. do you want pieces asap (rolling mostly on chain and bolts) or plan for the long run (going for your springs and shafts which will take a few weeks of clearing)

filthy casual. kidding, to each their own. best of luck in alex normal. not too hard once you get the swing of things. be sure to ask questions pertaining to mechanics etc your first run through and may RNG be in your favour
Get to i170 asap then you can start hitting alex C:
I'd recommend checking out that reddit link and plan your weekly loot like one of the posts mentioned there.
As for getting to i170... You can do pvp/expert/spam dungeon, which one's your flavour, also doing daily hunts and A/S rank hunts is good.
As far as hunting for Centurion Seals, you might want to hunt just the A/S rank in Heavensward Area, AND ONLY S rank in Pre-Heavensward Area.
Also depending on your role, you can start capping your weekly eso to buy whichever piece you need.
Hitting Bismarck Extreme to eventually kill and farm Ravana Extreme, for free i190 weapon is extremely viable!
wow - thank you everyone! my Main is SMN - everything else i do is crafting. I've been busy getting my crafters up to 55 across the board to support my FC and members still climbing to 50 - so i am way behind in understanding the esoteric etc... i just started running the wanted posters and just unlocked the 3rd level. I've read my SMN weapon/book is the first piece i should go for, but i'm not sure if that's an Alex drop vs and esoteric turn in. i'm assuming it will take multiple run-throughs of each Alex level to get all pieces... and then i'm sure there's a turn in and then upgrade process as well? i really appreciate the feedback.
