Why is it this trait Tree Whisperer V do NOT work on nodes that are not in a Heavensward zone?
It would seem that a tree is a tree no matter where it is, why should it work on a highere level tree and NOT lowere level trees aswell?

Trait say nothing about it not working nodes that are not in HW areas. (Allows you to better identify the characteristics of a mature tree or patch of lush vegetation, further improving chances of enhanced gathering when conditions are met.)

ps. dont know if its the same for miners trait, have not leveled a miner yet to that level.

Most likely it's because only the nodes you encounter at around or above the level where you get the trait are set up to give bonuses based on having the trait. This isn't actually all that different from how the earlier tiers of the trait worked - you didn't see nodes that gave elemental yield bonus or gather attempts +1 below the level where you get those traits either.

While the tier V trait is a little less transparent in how it works - since you don't see the bonus and conditions in advance - the bonuses you can get are probably still a built-in attribute of the individual nodes. It's just that this time, instead of being a static conditional bonus on specific nodes, it's done as a random lookup table that includes nothing as a possibility.

other Tree whisperer traits work on nodes that are lower then the skill itself, why cant the new trait do the same?
maybe this is the reson why combat classes did not get new traits, as they cant be used in the ARR areas then.

The effect is already present on the Node. Traits simply let you make use of it.

There are no HW effects found on pre-HW Nodes, so the trait still works, it just does not have anything pre-HW to let you make use of.

I think that you're coming at it thinking that the trait puts the effect on the node.
