If I'm healing and I see a Vitality tank, I let Eos take the wheel and DPS my face off.
OP apparently needs to learn how to play Scholar.

Overall point though is its not whether there vit or strength spec'd a garbage player is garbage. Nothing besides savage Alexander requires any real dps from tanks if the actual dps are even remotely competent. Is strength better? Of course it is. Is full vit a horrible option if that's how the tank wants to play? No its just simply not playing to there best potential which is why statics are the only real way to 100% have a group of like minded players. DF and PF are made up of different play styles and skill levels. It's not like there stacking int or mind. If a tank has to pull full strength just to clear dungeons or extremes dps need to pull there weight. That's the point that's being made you can't force an advanced or aggressive play style on every other player when it's not actual necessary for the content at hand that's just selfish.

ooooohhhh my MP RUN OUT and the battle take forever
it's the tank's fault![]()
Really 0.0 with my 170 book I can just adlo them apply dots bane shadowflare, top them off adlo broil a few times top them off adlo reapply dots if things are still above half hp. You either need better gear or tanks that know how to use cd's properly. Macro your fairy to heal with all your dps spells or something if it's really that hard for you
It wouldnt be like in ffxi anyways, since there is no need to build tp quicker or getting that extra bit str/whatever for a ws/nuke.
And yeah, the combat in ffxiv is way faster. But i still think it would be cool if i were able to swap if i want to.
And i even if it felt clunky, i liked stuff like stunorders for fights like khimaira (back in the time), switching in haste gear to cast shadows, sc's with a few blm's mb'ing and stuff like that. Cant compare the gameplay, and that wasnt my intention.
For me it was always fun to have different gearsets for different situations. And since ff14 fights are a lot faster it wouldnt be fun to swap sets all the time. But i wouldnt mind to swap from vit/meld to str as a tank if i want that bit of extra dps. Besides that there's no other job/time were a other gearset would make sense anyways. But that is because of the statdistribution on the items and the almost non existent need of secondary stats.
Going strength doesn't make you suddenly lose more mitigation, defenses. Vitality gear does not make you any tankier, it bloats your HP.If you're just learning tanking for now and feel like you're squishy, you should take at least some VIT accessories. Then when you'll start to be used to the tanking mechanics and how to properly mitigate damage, you won't need that extra VIT anymore and should try to swap progressively to STR accessories. It's I think the best way to get used to it.

Yeah I'll admit I havn't played current WoW at all. So apparently it is automatic. Much of my more modern tank experience comes from swtor(well did a lot in tera too but that's a radically different game). I don't want to make it sound like it's super hard or anything but dps are actually capable of pulling aggro from a tank. They discuss burst threat rotations how to properly use taunts to get the maximum threat boost, and even some strategies where the tank lets a dps pull with an opening burst and then quickly taunts before going into a max threat rotation. It's not hard or anything but considering they actually have discussions on threat management vs this game where the amount of discussion is based read your skill descriptions it's much more of a consideration there.I'm guessing you didn't tank in WoW (or if you did, you did so prior to mid-Wrath of the Lich King, when the tanks were designed differently). All tank actions have an enmity modifier of some ridiculous number (5000x or something like that, I don't recall the exact figure)
