Str accessories have their place. Mainly with groups that you know and trust. If you're pugging that prob isn't the best place for str accessories as you don't know what they are capable of and neither do they of you. Shaving off a couple minutes using str gear but having to take smaller pulls because you keep dying or taking bigger pulls with mor wealth but take a little longer to kill. It's for the players involved to decide. Not some random kid on a forum post.

I pug all the time in strength gear since the instances (level 60) were released and nobody had much in the way of gear. Its fine.

Yeah, before you come down on tanks, what about the healers who aren't doing damage, but also aren't healing me? They're just not casting anything at all. Why wouldn't I only be using vit gear?

With healers that I know and trust, I'll be using str gear, balanced to the fight and what I can take without being too much for them to heal, but in a pug, I'm gearing and playing like a tank, and my deliverance button doesn't even exist.

Also, if anything is dying too slow, the damage dealers in your groups need work. Avoiding damage and following mechanics ofc are their top priority, but you have to be able to do these things while also putting out damage and getting things killed, especially with all the dps races in the game.

I don't.. think gear matters if that is the case. Maybe they just ran out of mana because you and the DPS had bad DPS? If they are not doing anything, its the same with anything else. Kick em' and report for AFK.

I'm sorry but if you have lost hate to SMN and BLM STR isn't your problem. Either your opening threat rotation is weak and needs work, or your opening threat rotation is mediocre and your SMN/BLM are so focused on their damage that they are forgetting to make use of quelling strikes even a little bit. A lot of dps forget they have simple easy to use buttons like that, and they are bad for it. I've also seen a lot of tanks with weak opening rotations. Dark Arts Power Slash is strong.

Dark Arts Power Slash is actually really weak and quite a waste of MP. Don't do that. Just do a normal Power Slash combo and use your oGCDs properly when opening a boss fight, 0 enmity issues.

It's a pretty good enmity boost as far as I can tell, albeit I don't care for DRK and only leveled it so I could pose with the hive claymore. Do you have the flat numbers on the enmity multiplier for a combo'd power slash and a combo'd dark arts power slash? I am curious to know just how much the multiplier is.

No DA Power Slash is 5.5x multiplier, DA Power Slash is 6.5x. It's not worth a Dark Arts at all.

if a mob is no longer hitting you and hitting a dps, yes. Even for a bloody half-second.
Can't count how many times I pull out of trance and into simply keeping dots sustained that I get hate, then wailed on for a bit cause Drkaherp's, Herpadin's, & Derpior, all were running str on the right.

If tanks are going to run str, know how to deal with aggro and cooldowns effectively before those DPS that can push out numbers in pugs, make you second guess your decision on a class.

I don't get it. STR affects enmity. If tanks wearing STR accessories are losing aggro, then they're bad tanks and it would happen even faster in VIT gear. It has nothing to do with accessories and everything to do with bad players.

If tanks are losing agro with STR gear it would be even worse if they were wearing VIT gear. I don't understand your point.
