Increase inventory space by reducing Key Items slot allowance

Be honest with me here, who needs more than 25 slots for your Key Items at any one given time? And if you do, it poses the question in why you aren't managing your Key Item space efficiently.

People are always calling for more inventory space, and we keep getting the reply that extra inventory space would tax the servers too much, and yet we're sitting on a potential extra 50 inventory spaces because they're going to waste being gated behind Key Items.

If you feel like it, there could be 25 Key Item slots next to your crystals, your bait box for fishers could be another of these 25 slot allocations, thus reducing the inventory clutter by assigning a bait type to the "box" and any excess remaining in inventory, and it means we have 25 extra slots for the player. After all, if retainers can use up all of the 175 slots, why can't players at least have 125, or even 150 spaces?

I sort of think the key item slots are sort of free slots precisely for the reason no one needs all so much of them at any given time. If people would have 25 slots more of inventory space it can be pretty counted on that majority of players would use them. However, the key item slots are sort of unlimited. For example, I seem to recall that if you don't have the larger inventory view it shows you only one tab of key item slots, that being 25. That it shows more of those slots in the extended inventory view is more due the graphics being that way, it's not like the empty slots are allocated to the player as such.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

Hmm you bring up an interesting point, would be nice to have confirmation about it, and if infact these spaces are actually allocated to the player it would be a very good idea to relieve some of the inventory stress that's been going around by unlocking them from key items.

I think one clue might be the fact that you can't re-arrange items or even sort items in your key items tab. Even retainers can't hang onto these items. The only way you can do anything to them is to use them, discard them, or complete the related quest.

Also most quest items don't have any variables related to them, save maybe a stack size in some (can't recall now) so those spots are propably completely designed to save in different method that doesn't save such things as repair status, soulbound amount, tradeablenes, dye, glamour, actual inventory slot etc. After all every inventory spot we do use has to be counted to have all those things to be attached, even if obviously in some items classes these fields are null. Pretty sure the key item list in itself is just list of item references of things we have without any attached variables except maybe the said stack size. Even if we had allocated space for, say, max 25 key item it doesn't mean we'd have allocated space for 25 inventory item hanging loose.
