Company credits are earned by completing content, and you get a bonus for doing it with FC members where applicable. Examples are quests, fates, crafting, gathering, primals (normal and EX), raids (normal and savage), and so on.
I wish it told us when we earned our FC some Company Credits, just like it tells us when we earn XP. We'd get a better chance to see which activities boost our FC's rank the most effectively, and it'd be another nice little incentive for completing stuff if we could see how we're contributing towards our FC's goal.
