How does one get a ranking in one's GC... and I don't mean the rank one earns by buying it with seals (am maxxed out there). Lodestone shows a weekly and a monthly ranking, but they are blank for me.

Are you in an FC?
If you're talking about this, just earn a bunch of seals.
If you're talking about your FC's ranking... be active. Basically do things that earn company credits.

Yes, am in a FC... no ranking there either, gotta find out exactly what earns "company credits." I think I'm pretty active (only been plahing 8 weeks, maged to get to 54 & ilvl 116). Yes was talking about the Grand Company (Immortal Flames I'm in). Odd, I ground out enough seals to "promote" myself to the top current rank (Lt. 2) AND I now have 40k of the max 50k seals I can carry.
Hit return too early, went looking at rankings, holy smoke I had no clue one had to seriously overdue seals to rank... the rank 500 monthly guy had over 800k seals! (assume it means collected in this month, not overall)... the 500th weekly guy had 29k collected IN A WEEK!). The top weekly guy had 486k... AND how could either get so many when there is a 50k cap for the top current rank?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I only kept collecting any after getting my Lt. rank because someone told me they will have higher ranks, so wanted to be somewhat prepared. Other than that, not so sure what use seals really have...

The weekly and monthly rankings are based on the amount earned, not how much you've accumulated. If you click that link in my earlier post... well, no one can hold 400,000+ seals at once, that's just how many they earned this week.Yes, am in a FC... no ranking there either, gotta find out exactly what earns "company credits." Company credits are earned by completing content, and you get a bonus for doing it with FC members where applicable. Examples are quests, fates, crafting, gathering, primals (normal and EX), raids (normal and savage), and so on.
I wish it told us when we earned our FC some Company Credits, just like it tells us when we earn XP. We'd get a better chance to see which activities boost our FC's rank the most effectively, and it'd be another nice little incentive for completing stuff if we could see how we're contributing towards our FC's goal.
Agreed. It also hasn't really gotten the attention of theorycrafters as they aren't an especially meaningful currency...I wish it told us when we earned our FC some Company Credits, just like it tells us when we earn XP.
