    It's fine when you're just learning to heal to play cautiously. I don't think anyone will criticize you for that; as long as you did your job, they've no reason to complain. Once you're more comfortable with it, you can start stance dancing with Cleric. You can't expect the confidence and knowledge of enemy damage right from the start.

    When I can't Stance Dance, I personally get either:
    1. Bored out of my mind when I just sit there and cure when I could be doing other things.
    2. Extremely frustrated, because the tank is taking way too much damage and not using CDs, so I'm basically spamming on him constantly just to keep him alive.

    It'll probably be the same for you, eventually. So don't push it.
