Except the worthiness of aesthetics beside stats is an issue that differs between players - for me, it's very annoying, moreso than problems with my stats.
So yes, for me, the stone in the shoe analogy is correct. it mayn't be for you, but I think people need to start realising that just because they and possibly the majority care about one thing and not another, it doesn't automatically make decisions that hurt enjoyment of the game for other people, or damage pleasant secondary elements, a good idea when an alternative that would cause less problems for everyone is available. Especially when the choice the developers made was neither properly announced nor explained.
It is going to be a bloody sod having to fart about with this system until whatever point the developers see fit to implement the system that isn't broken (and it is broken. It might not be broken for the things that you consider important, but it's certainly broken for the things I and a fair few others think matter).
