The reason given was that the Japanese players were asked whether they would like all clipping issues resolved or if they would like new glamours (including hairstyles). Presumably the developers would have to spend a huge amount of time fixing clipping and this would be at the expense of new content.

The players chose new content over fixing the issues, leading to the current situation where hairstyles & clothing are numerous but with clipping. Had the other route been chosen you may have not had long hair as a choice anyway.

Ah... i see true i prefer content if i HAD to choose xD but still can be hopeful.. maybe...maybe in the future ;_;

There isn't any content that would be cut if this issue were resolved, just new glamours. Supposedly. Interestingly enough, one of the two new hairstyles introduced also clips. I'd rather the issue be fixed than have new hairstyles that I can't use. But no one asked me.
