Why keep DF off of new content?

If the players don't want to put any effort to even create a premade party then they don't deserve to challenge these content. you can't learn or practice anything with DF group that will be disbanded in 5 minutes. it a waste of server resources too.

Just because you like / can static up/premade party up, doesn't mean everyone can , or even wants to. Personally, some of the best runs i've had of anything in game were just random dfs late at night when i was bored lol.

And you can definitely learn with DF. It's how many, myself included, learned things. Go in with the attitude of "probably won't manage much", and anything you do manage is a great bonus.

My only guess is that this way "challenging content" will be available for those who'll make a pre0-made and then once all data has been viewed and the content itself is more or less outdated they can proceed to make adjustments (echo, getting rid.nerfing mechanics, etc) to make it easier for random DF groups to beat it.

To reduce stress on the instance servers while groups that actually have a chance at clearing it are, y'know, attempting to clear it?

Idk much about instance server loads though, so that might be an apples to oranges comparison.

@JM: Fair enough, though some DPS might find it a welcome active practice of their skill, and there may very well be other players who can manage those numbers in similar straits as mine. Also, sure, that's for Alex, but what about Bis/Rav at this point? It's been two months and they're still not DFable, which is kind of insane considering how much stuff has come out that outclasses what they give.

It's good that it's not in DF, so that new players are forced to do some research on it -- how to unlock it and (hopefully) why it's not in DF. If it was in DF then we'd have droves of new players on the forums begging for savage to be nerfed to make DF a viable option.

And yeah... 99.99% chance that your DF group wouldn't make it past Faust. You wouldn't get much if any experience on an actual boss.

Most content eventually makes it to DF, once it's viable for it. Not sure if Alex savage will though...

edit: if you have issues with PFing stuff, and that's your only option, you might want to consider moving to a larger server.

For those that frequent the forum, skip on past, there's other threads you can go to. Or you can tell them to shape up or to give up, and then we might see competency levels in DF for NA servers closer to what you see in JP servers. I'd mark that as a win-win.

@Bhuni: Yeeeep. We only went with Faerie because we couldn't get into the bigger servers, and now it feels like there's a huge chunk of the game denied to us because of the limitations on cross-server play that are in place, and on top of a sub SE wants more money and to take away huge sections of your already established gaming experience to have a chance to play with more people. It's... all kinds of not good.

What good would come from it? None. If you put it in DF now, all you'd be doing is upsetting newbies. Telling newbies to git gud in savage wouldn't raise competency levels. When and if it's a viable option, it'll be added to DF.

If they're getting upset over a game, that's their bad. Move on past them, whiners gonna whine. Has it not being in DF stopped all whining? Doesn't seem like it. And it's not the telling them, it's demonstrating it, which would help to address the current issues we're having: There's too much hand-holding and coddling that they're going to just expect it to be handed to them so all holding it back from DF is just delaying the inevitable, and will just continue to breed more bad on all sides.

EDIT: As for it never being added to DF that some are saying, that sounds pretty insane, especially if they're putting exclusive gear to it. Also eventually people will want it as an unsync'd option, which necessitates it being DFable.
And while the EX's are going to be added in 3.1, that's still kinda lackluster as it means that I'll actually have other stuff to do then. It's like going from having an empty plate to too full of one.
