Past Anniversary events..

So ...I have heard mixed thoughts on this..I looked up the past anniversary events and I saw the final fantasy 13 lightning event ...what are people's thoughts on if that came up this year? I personally wanna see it come back because I never got to do it since I didn't play last year.

There's a very slim chance that it will return with the PC release of LRFF13, but I highly doubt it.

Probably not the event itself, but there could be a chance of it coming to Mog Station.

There are 2 types of events in MMORPGS.

Reoccurring Events: These events typically pop up on an annual or bi-annual basis. Most of the time, these types of events will coincide with some holiday, either national or international. They can also be used to celebrate world lore holidays and/or anniversaries (ones with no real-life counterparts). These types of events allow for reoccurring themes and awards.

Special Events: These types of events usually only happen once or twice in a MMO's entire lifespan. Typically, these are used for promotional purposes for new products, games, or with special anniversary milestones (5-year anniversary, 10-year anniversary, etc.). Once these events conclude, the content and awards are no longer obtainable.

Heavensturn, Moonfire Fair, The Rising, Starlight Celebration, etc. events fall into the former category.
The One Year Anniversary and the FFXIII, FFXI, and Dragon Quest X crossover events fall into the latter category.

I'm actually surprised that they haven't added the Lightning gear to the Mogstation yet. A lot of people want the gear, and I think it would be odd for them to make the event yet again when it was simply a promotional crossover. People need to understand however that when there's a special event or "limited time offer" on something, you can't expect to see it more than once. This is coming from someone who has missed out on some events and would also like certain items.

If you missed out, you missed out. But yeah, I can imagine them putting up crossover items for sale, that way you can still get it even if you weren't there for the event. And to those who become upset because those who were able to play during the event and got it for free, think of it as a real ife scenario where if you're at some event, you'd be getting free goodies which you'd have to pay for otherwise.

Can we all just forget FF13 ever happened? But seriously though, SE should just offer the hairstyle on the mogstation at this point.
