Windows 10: FFXIV has stopped working

Hi all, I have seen this problem pop up a bit but have yet to find a resolution. Recently upgraded to Windows 10, and have not been able to get into the game since then. I am able to enter my credentials in the launcher and then click play, but then I get the "FFXIV has stopped working" message. The event viewer shows the following:

I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti with the most recent Windows 10 drivers. I have tried turning off Windows Defender, Firewall, GeForce Experience, and am out of idea. Any help would be great!

Wait...I'm having the same issue. How did you get to the event viewer?

And I did the auto install of Windows 10...not sure if that's what you mean by a clean install or not though.

....Never mind. Found out my RAMM was being used elsewhere. Did a reboot and it knocked off that process and it booted up fine now.

    Hope this helps you Insol.

Which program did you use to stop that process?

I just did the upgrade from Windows 7. I have not done a clean install. I have done a full reinstall of ffxiv however. Problem persists.

I pretty much have the same issue, and logging out of Windows kills whatever process was still stuck in RAM. I'd really like to know which process it is that isn't getting killed on exit.

In your processes, kill all that are non-essential to your system. After that, kill all start up programs in the list...Then restart. Should fix itself.

@ Hayward - I just used the Task Manager to do the above.

For some strange reason, the launcher works as normal when a YouTube video is playing in the background, but gives me the error any other time. What's this about?
