Beast Daily - Larboard and Lodging

Got this today as one of the dailies, but just can\\'t figure out how to complete it.

With the debuff you\\'re down to 129 CP, so you\\'re severely limited in actions you can use for HQ.

The item only has 40 durability, I manage 3 Standard Touch, finishing with a Basic Synth. I just can\\'t get above 22%.

I\\'ve tried various cross class skills but with no luck.

    For cross class skills I have: ALC/GSM - 51 and all others - 30.

    Any advise appreciated

I don't remember having much trouble with this daily myself. Is the gear on your level 51 class up-to-date, and are you using those classes to craft the item before swapping to a lower level to turn it in?

If your gear is up to date, you can most likely get away with: steady hand -> great strides -> advanced touch -> careful synthesis (or standard synthesis)

Since Beast Tribe quests give you unlimited materials to work with, you can consider depending on RNG to give you a successful result. Try this rotation, which has MANY opportunities for failure, but has the chance to push your quality high enough to get the job done:

    Inner Quiet (129 CP remain)
    Steady Hand (111 CP remain)
    Hasty Touch (111 CP remain)
    Hasty Touch (111 CP remain)
Tricks of the Trade anytime during the above (131 CP remain)
    Manipulation (43 CP remain)
    Hasty Touch (43 CP remain)
Hasty Touch (43 CP remain) (only 50% success rate! Suck it up!)
Hasty Touch (43 CP remain) (50% again! Oh, the humanity!)
Tricks of the Trade anytime during the above (63 CP remain)
    Great Strides (31 CP remain)
Basic Touch (13 CP remain) (only 70% success)
Careful Synthesis (or Basic Synthesis, if CS won't finish the synth, but BS only has 90% success)

This method depends on getting at least two Good procs to spend on Tricks of the Trade. If you get even one more, you can toss in an extra Steady Hand after the first wears off, in order to stablize the later steps of the synth. Even more will allow additional benefits, such as substituting Standard Synthesis for the Basic Synthesis at the end.

The magic of Hasty Touch is that you can spend the CP you save (since HT is free) in order to recover durability and give you more steps. Odds are that at least three of the five Hasties in the method above will be successful, and that still leaves you with enough space to use Great Strides and a Basic Touch - a big hit further bolstered by the stacks of Inner Quiet you've built up.

Also, I'm not sure how the CP cap affects food, but if you get additional CP from food while under this cap, consider eating a Frumenty. This sells for 7 gil from vendors in any city, and boosts your CP by as many as 10. Even one additional CP, though, means you can start this rotation with Comfort Zone and still have enough CP for Manipulation later on. Since this rotation lasts at least ten steps, that means 16 extra CP to play around with, which can significantly improve your results.

One of the things that these Beast Tribe quests is how to get the most milage out of limited CP. High level recipes require you to do an INSANE amount of progress and quality using a relatively small CP pool. By making use of abilities that have a chance of failure in exchange for potent results, you learn how to take advantage of probabilities to get the best results over the long term.

Get CUL to 37 for Steady Hand II or you're going to go insane, especially for higher-level stuff. Hasty Touch becomes your absolute bread and butter Quality builder past a certain point. Once you get it, just do the rotation LineageRazor recommends.

Using 3 standard touches as your opener is the issue. Inner Quiet makes early control worth less than later control due to the stacking bonus. Opening with 3 standard touches, which cost a lot of CP, just means you blow your CP on not very much returns.

You should have more cross class skills so you can go Comfort Zone > Inner Quiet > Steady Hand II > Hasty Touch spam

Hasty Touch + (Cul 37) Steady Hand II is going to be key, especially since you get more mats when you fail so there's no downside to missing a Hasty touch since you can just make it again.
