In a sense the only incentive to do them at this point in time is the entry quest to each one to get those tasty xp scrolls. After that I do have to agree there really is no incentive to finish the quest until 4.0 since as far as we know completing these quest don't really open up anything new. It be nice if those quest opened the door to future content to encourage people to finish those quest but as they stand they are moreso just dead weight til 4.0.
The thing that worked for 2.0 was the fact you could obtain the best main hand for that time by completing the main quest so there was incentive there, however when it comes to these quest you get 3 measly IV materia, and man materia is like a dime a dozen thanks to airships so it really takes away from the "reward" from doing the final quest. It would of been nice if maybe SE changed things up this time and offered a unique "offhand" tool in the same respect as the main hand tools we got in 2.0 to at least showcase something worth driving for when completing those quest. But to only be given 3 materia for the most part those quest are just going to be lying there for a while til I'm forced to do them.

You're on my server, and on our server each of those materias go for 100k a piece, sometimes more. I'd hardly call that a dime a dozen
This makes me so sad though and why I wish the rewards for these quests were more interesting, I actually didn't even think at first that there would be people who wouldn't do them at all. Easy XP and expensive materias is at least something, but to hear there's so many people who don't even do them now...it makes me sad because the stories are so good and so many won't ever get to see them or discover how cool they are.
