They did say they were talking to the XV director about a crossover event so that's the most likely thing to assume.

Yoshida did confirm that they're in talks for a XV event, but if it happens it's *not* going to be the next one. It was said the next event has already been finalized and is much closer.
It's probably Yo-kai Watch. Akihiro Hino, the CEO of Level-5, is a huge fan of XIV (he mains a Paladin) and appeared on a past live letter. When he was on, he revealed art of Jibanyan from Yo-kai Watch as a Paladin and Whisper as the Paladin's lion mount that he had requested his art team create for him. Not long after this, a placeholder minion and mount were datamined in Patch 2.5 with silhouettes resembling the artwork Hino had shown. Yo-kai Watch launches outside of Japan this November, so they've probably just been waiting patiently for the right time to launch the collaboration.
My dream event, a Chrono Trigger event to celebrate it's 20th anniversary. Hell the event we have now is a direct copy of CT's Dream Team ending.
In reality? An FF15 event, I'm damn near positive about it.

A Chrono Trigger event would be amazing...complete with a Soken version of Corridors of Time. Or Chrono Cross xD

FFXV was a planned event so I guess we might have Noctis come over to Eorzea, they could even bring the party of four over too.
