Yes the MB is the medium where one accumulate gil, not generate it, but at the same time it is the best way to accumulate and be a a Rich merchant.I've seen level 15 stuff being sold for ridiculous prices, and they're certainly not using the MB to accumulate gil at that point, as it's not even unlocked yet.
The Market Board is not the primary source of gil in this game. In fact, it's not a source of gil at all. All it does is transfer around the gil that has already been made from quests, FATEs, dungeons, leves, etc. It's the rate at which those primary sources provide gil that determines how much is reasonably available at any given point. And low-level quests, leves, FATEs, etc, don't pay out as much as high-level ones.
Thank you whoever used my RaF code & if you need anything PM me here or /tell in-game.
Actually, most of the people buying gear from the MB are either buying leve turn ins or are leveling a second character. Questing gives enough gear that new players don't tend to look on MB for anything better.Exactly, I hate seeing low-level gear being sold at endgame prices. Sure, a few of the potential buyers have been around a couple years or more, have several level 60 jobs already, and are just leveling up a new alt class, but there's plenty of others who are just starting out and are getting only the slow trickle of gil that early game content gives. They need gear too, and aren't going to be spending the sort of gil you don't make until endgame. Prices should be appropriate to the item, which means pricing low-level gear towards the new player (or new character) market.

I don't believe what I'm reading here. People with a decent understanding of economics? People with an understanding of how supply and demand works?
What's next? People being nice to each other? I don't know if I want to keep playing this game anymore...
I don't recall getting ANY gear from questing after I did Ifrit and before the "prepping you for HW" quests. Everything I got was from dungeons.
