There are no undercutters. Only overcutters.
MANTASTIC: I got 1017 problems, but playing FFXIV ain't one.
Llyren: Lala Tanks hit point density levels attract small planets

Capitalism is a wonderful thing.

If you try to sell a level 30 item for 50K gil
and I come along and sell the same item for 15K gil
that isn't undercutting
that is market correction
what level 30 sprout can afford a 50K item?

This. If the item I'm selling is meant for level 45-60 players, I'll barely undercut the lowest bidder, assuming I undercut them at all. But if it's for someone below that, I just sell it at whatever price is reasonable.
I started with a new character recently and found that I couldn't afford any more than one marketboard item even after saving up all my Gil so far, and selling all monster drops and Allagan pieces.

Exactly, I hate seeing low-level gear being sold at endgame prices. Sure, a few of the potential buyers have been around a couple years or more, have several level 60 jobs already, and are just leveling up a new alt class, but there's plenty of others who are just starting out and are getting only the slow trickle of gil that early game content gives. They need gear too, and aren't going to be spending the sort of gil you don't make until endgame. Prices should be appropriate to the item, which means pricing low-level gear towards the new player (or new character) market.

Actually, most of the people buying gear from the MB are either buying leve turn ins or are leveling a second character. Questing gives enough gear that new players don't tend to look on MB for anything better.Exactly, I hate seeing low-level gear being sold at endgame prices. I don't recall getting ANY gear from questing after I did Ifrit and before the "prepping you for HW" quests. Everything I got was from dungeons.
Congratulations, you've won the internet today!
As an aside, why isn't the OP of the other thread complaining about getting good deals from said undercutters?
Overcutters, otherwise known as price gougers? I will cut into their profits any day.
