Red Mage (Tank) Please!

the majority is asking for Red Mage.

We can't know that, but if I made an educated guess it's the opposite, considering both poll threads just created and the fact that census had DPS over the other roles combined.

Just this reasoning alone shows how little you understand the tank meta, but moving on.

That had nothing to do with tank meta, there was nothing to show, but thanks for feeling the need to put me down.

RDM is a perfect fit as tank, simply due to the way they've always been designed. The RDM has always been incredibly open ended design wise, so saying it can't be a tank because "reasons" is really silly.

They can very easily put in red mage as a tank, while adhering to it's past incarnations. Whether they will or not is another question entirely.

Hardly what I said. Every Red Mage in Final Fantasy: a subset of Black Magic (Damage), a subset of White Magic (Not Damage), and decent melee weapons/armor (Damage). Red Mage is more DPS then it ever was Heal or Tank. Not open ended design, it's a set pattern. Defensive stuff were gimmicks in, really, just 11. That has nothing to do with how tanks survive.

If we're going to say what makes sense for Red Mage, it's not tanking.
