I wouldn't say in FFXI that red mage was a tank. It was more of a kiter/soloer it had some utility for tanking but so does ninja in FFXIV with a damage down ability. It being called a tank is a terrible idea it will likely be a caster but i hope it will be a magic melee dps that i think would be interesting.
