"You don't stop playing when you get old, you get old when you stop playing!"
Punctuation is your friend. It deliniates the difference between "Let's eat, Grandma!" and "Let's eat Grandma!"
I'm not having any trouble with activation. Infact I just had it activate three times on a single tree. I've never looked at the moon phase once during my 14 career, does that mean it doesn't make a difference?
Yeah, I'm a skeptic too, sorry...![]()
I seemed to nitice Fingerprint of the Gods and Sweat of Brow do not play nice with each other. The other day I was grinding with both equiped in Humblehearth and had 0 procs. Once I removed Fingerprint, I had some Sweat procs. Don't know if this was just chance, but figured I'd share.
After putting all my perception gear back on after spiritbonding some dated gear, the rate at which Fingerprints activated was noticeably higher. My friend has experienced similar results as well.
Most levelling gatherers wouldn't use perception since gathering and output is entirely more beneficial to them. However, 50 gatherers don't need gathering and only need a little output, so they'd have a lot more perception. This could be another factor to why 50 gatherers are generally having more luck.
If you're struggling to get Fingerprints to activate, try equipping some more perception gear. The Angler's Hat and Raptorskin Survival belt will give you +32 combined. It may improve your activation rate, in which case you'll gather more catalysts.
Remember, though, if you're not 50, removing too much gathering and output will make it more difficult to obtain items and lower the amount of gathers you can perform, respectively.![]()

anyone know any foods that can increase perception? I read on lodestone journals food effects are crazy after 1.19 so might help out for those lower levels or high level gatherers to test it out some more
Update: FYI found out cottage cheese increases perception now I just need to find it and test it out![]()

yes you need to have finished the quest for the ability to proc
Looks like SE acknowledge that fingerprints proc rate was too low and is now increasing it. Also it will last until the node is runs out of attempts.
I think this marks the end of overpriced catalysts too.
A little late to mention but, I have found both Botany and Mining to have a higher proc rate than fishing (yes at school of fish)
Hopefully the patch will make this less obvious.
I got a ton of it doing fishing leves out in Skull Valley/BloodshoreThanks for the info![]()
